But it was too late and we had to go.... What a shame.... it sounded so good in the brochure.... The staff were rude and unfriendly - the female staff didn't even look at us - that's not a culture thing - they looked miffed to be at work, immediately puts the paying customer in an uneasy mood - wondering... I have been to Kobe Jones several times in the past, both to the table restaurant and the separate teppanyaki place. They are actually adjacent in the same building and every time I have had a really entertaining afternoon, top notch service and great food. This time with my wife we both chose the "lobster experience". The menus are easy... More

Yes, a very unusual combination. I was entertaining clients and we had the Spring set menu for $80 per person. The food was of average quality, the service simply incompetent. Have a look at the photos for yourself and decide which way to go. I don't think I'll be back.

Horrible experience. Waited over 2 hours to get 3 servings of food while everyone around us had received their food. The chef had forgotten about our set menu and made us wait while they cooked our third dish (half the restaurant had emptied out). The servings were micro sized and definitely not worth the wait. I had to continuously ask... More

We grabbed the seafood degustation menu using the recent Groupon and we were impressed by the food and service. The simple crab and lemon was a highlight, along with the tuna salad. Wine menu has some good choices too.

Attended this place for a birthday dinner, food was ok (lobster chewy). Came here 5 years ago and it was amazing. Kobe Jones you need a re-furb and a new identity. The price was extremely high for the dinner. DO NOT ORDER A ASAHI BEER $15.00 WOW and I can buy a case for $40.00 retail. Please don't charge fine... More

We came here for a special dinner while in Sydney for the weekend. It was really tasty and the whole experience was very good. The only thing I can fault is the temperature in the restaurant. It was 40c outside and it felt even hotter inside. It was almost unbearable, I had about six glasses of water with dinner to... More

If you're a fan of Teppanyaki then this place is a must. Conveniently located in the City area - it looks out onto the spectacular Darling Habour which is a must see for any tourist. Good clean restaurant - the chefs put on a reasonable show and the food is excellent each time. One good tip though if you are... More

I definitely going back there again. There are two types of foods; which are fine dining and Teppanyaki. Even though it is very pricey, foods are really tasty. Staffs area really friendly and polite. The restaurant is located in the heart of Sydney, Barangaroo reserve. You also can request for the seat by the window.

I'm sorry to say that one of our favourites is not recommending that we come back. The couples menu was tired, except for the carpaccio and the tasting plate. Waited for service all night and at one point were feliberatley ignored by the head waiter. Dessert was meant to be on a flame. Ours went out long before the dessert... More

Staying in Darling Harbour

Neighbourhood Profile
Darling Harbour
The original docklands of Darling Harbour have been transformed into a tourist mecca with entertainment for the whole family. Cockle Bay Wharf offers dining options from budget to upscale and million dollar views of the harbour. Young crowds gather on weekends for nightlife that ranges from salsa clubs to Dj’s. Families can visit the Chinese Gardens of Friendship or the Sydney Aquarium, one of the largest in the world. The Sydney Maritime Museum and the IMAX theatre are also popular attractions. The Harbourside Shopping Centre is a site unto itself, with hundreds of shops, restaurants and bars. On Saturdays in the summer, the city puts on a spectacular fireworks show along the harbour's shore and there are plenty of other free events during the year - Darling Harbour Fiesta, VIVID’s light installations and the Sydney Festival, just to name a few.
