Undoubtedly Aria Sydney is a world class dining experience. Matt Moran’s technical expertise and creativity is nothing short of brilliant in a refined and comfortable setting. What destroyed a highly anticipated dining event was the attitude of the Maitre d’ - from beginning to end. In a nutshell - 15th April - reservation confirmed through American Express Platinum Concierge for... More

We get to Sydney about every two years [shopping with my daughter] as her friend lives in Newcastle. The visit to Aria is a must and we anticipate it for months.

Had expected first class food with plenty of interest and flavour but it did not eventuate. We were told they were rebranding in March and thought with that in the offing they had dropped the ball on the öld"menu.

We had a great evening at ARIA. We opted for 4 courses but to be honest 3 would have been plenty for me. I left stuffed. I don't eat any meat and there were plenty of choices for me. My favourite course was by far the French toast with Moreton bay bug. It was exquisite and I could have easily... More

We visited this restaurant with friends as we were staying just up the road. From the moment we stepped inside we were treated with friendliness. The restaurant was quite full but that didnt matter as i felt we were the only table in the room that needed to be served . The staff we so friendly , patient and ready... More

Have had both lunch and dinner here before. Most recent was lunch with a colleague. Friendly reception and service excellent. Food just right. Of course location is a bonus with excellent views of the Opera House and surrounds. I prefer eating here during daylight hours because the view is better.

From the moment the door was opened for us by a charming (not at all sycophantic) concierge our leisurely Saturday lunch was bliss. The staff are friendly, unobtrusive and intuitive. The sommelier was not overbearing and helped us to select a delicious shiraz and dessert wine. The food was the best I have eaten. This restaurant not only lived up... More

We came here following the Ballet at the Opera House on a Wednesday night (around 10 P.M), without a booking. The host was very friendly and the waiters were quite nice. We ordered the Mushroom Tortellini and The Duck Breast as Entrees but as a main portion serve. Both were delicious. We ordered two Lychee Martini's, which were also great... More

I left Aria a little disappointed and regretful thinking its reputation would live up in any way to expectations. The place is still of some quality, but there are too many shortcomings which make this restaurant low down the list for the price. The service we experienced was a mixed bag, but just too many bumbling mistakes to forgive. It... More

It has been about 10 years since I last visited Aria. It was only being given a gift voucher that got me back as that time I sent my main dish back. This time the food had improved but still not at the quality you would expect for this price. The smoked duck breast was not properly trimmed and still... More

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
The Sydney Central Business District is abuzz with energy. Power brokers run to and from high rise buildings and after-work drink places, high-end shoppers tour venues like the QVB, and fine diners frequent the many celebrity chef restaurants. For a dose of culture, walk to the NSW Art Gallery, or visit the Sydney Museum. To escape the hustle and bustle, reconnect with nature at the Sydney Botanical Gardens or picnic lunch at High Park. No matter your interest, be sure to check the full calendar of events hosted by the city, from the Sydney Festival in January to October’s Good Food Month at Hyde Park.
