Located up one flight and away from the noise and confusion of Friday night Street Fair, Nine Dragons provides a comfortable and reasonably priced oasis. Traditional fare with excellent service.

After walking the length and possibly the breadth of Sydneys Chinatown looking for a spot to dine we discovered this restaurant and were not dissappointed. The service was outstanding and reasonably priced. The food was authentic, portions were generous and prices were what you expect for a dine in rather than street eating experience. They had a great selection on... More

Normally dred the thought of having to eat in a dirty restaurant in Chinatown. This place is a refreshing change. For a small premium, you do get to dine in a clean place. We had the lunch Yum Cha and it was very good. The tripe was the standout dish for us

Been coming here for 35 years as a child with my parents for yum Cha and now my family carry on the tradition. Yummy yum Cha, always fresh and lots of variety

The street hawkers hocking yum cha in Chinatown should have been a hint that this is probably not the best yum cha in town, but we were there and wanted the experience. Ordering was off a menu rather than hailing down a passing waiter and taking a punt on whatever they were carrying, which is my preferred approach to yum... More

Had a lovely early evening spring dinner at this place. Had an outdoor table and there was lots of action for mum and the kids to take in. The food was excellent. Especially the Peking Duck. Generous portions. The table was a little "rickety" but that's the only thing to drop a star. Enjoyed it.

Neighbourhood Profile
Tiger-flanked archways on Dixon Street mark the entrance to the “little Asia” of Sydney. A walk through Chinatown is a feast for the senses where aromas, tastes, sounds and visions of dancing tigers transport you to a different world. Chinatown visitors can expect a melting pot of Asian food at the neighbourhood's specialty delis and groceries. From yum cha to handmade noodles, BBQ ducks hanging in the window to Asian sweets and bakeries, there is something for all tastes. Paddy’s Markets is the largest flea market in Sydney where you can find souvenirs, clothing, gifts and fruit and vegetables at unbeatable prices. At night, Chinatown comes alive with entertainment including theatre, nightclubs and bars that are open until the early morning.
