Was extremely excited to have dinner at The Quay. We had made reservations before arrival in Sydney. The entrance to it is rather hidden and not on the side of the cruise ships. It was beautiful within the restaurant and the view of the harbour and Opera House made a memorable evening. I loved my entre a hand shelled mud... More

We had been told that this place was excellent, but we were pleasantly surprised. Outstanding food. Attentive, but un-rushed service. Excellent views. Yes, it's pricey; but it's worth it.

What can I say? What has not yet been said? All was perfect! Friendly, attentive and knowledgeable staff, a great table with a view of opera house and harbour bridge, and the food! All the four courses each of us had were as tasty and as interesting as expected, the snow egg should not be missed. The matching wines were... More

My wife and I dined here for our first wedding anniversary. We have been saving coming her for a long time and finally experienced it. We were absolutely impressed with their service and food. We were sat down at our table and our waiter introduced himself - his name was Crispin. We proceeded to introduce him to the challenge we... More

Dined at quay last night and arrived to find someone had left a rather large boat between me and my view of the Opera House. Upon complaining Quay staff had the thing removed (I assume it was them) and once more I could look out over he fabulous views of the harbour, the Bridge and the Opera House - match... More

I have been to quay before for a birthday a few years ago and absolutely loved it. Every dish was 11/10 in taste and presentation so I was really looking forward to going back. This time round I have to say my partner and I were erring towards disappointed. While the views and service were impeccable, the food just lacked... More

I was lucky enough to be invited to lunch at this renowned restaurant. It didn't disappoint. The service was spot on and the food was superb. A wonderful venue for a long enjoyable lunch.

I went to Quay with my wife to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Considering the reputation, price, three hats, we were sure that we'd get the best dining experience of our lives, but alas it was far from that. On the plus side, the view was breathtaking and they designed the interior in such a way that every single customer can... More

My wife and I travel and eat in a lot of very good restaurants and we have been saving the Quay for when we got married. We went two days after our wedding. What a waist of a night. This didn't even come close to what I was expecting. The food was lacking in flavor and my lamb was very... More

i think a meal at quay has become the iconic "thing to do" much like tetsuyas used to be. being only a table of four on a saturday night we booked back in early november. the weather was on our side and the obligatory ship had left it's berth so our views were unimpeded. we were keen on a pre-dinner... Staying in The Rocks

Neighbourhood Profile
The Rocks
The first residents of the Rocks were convicts and sailors from the old nation. As the oldest neighbourhood in the city, the area's cobblestone streets host more than 100 heritage sites and buildings, including the oldest house in Sydney, Camden Cottage, which was built in 1816. Taste a “midi “ or a “schooner” of beer and dine “al fresco” on the waterfront at some of the oldest pubs in Sydney. The weekend markets at the Rocks are where you can find local artists' hand-made souvenirs, organic food and designer jewelry in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. To enjoy some of the best Australian and international contemporary art, the MCA museum is open every day and select evenings. At the end of a long day of sightseeing, be sure to save energy to dance the night away at the area's many late night entertainment venues.
