Friday lunch is, understandably, quite popular and the restaurant seemed to be fully booked. But apparently not enough waiters were on duty. A long wait to have our order taken, but the meals arrived within an acceptable time. A very long wait to have the empty plates cleared away, then we had to ask for the dessert menu which took... We went here for a farewell dinner for a work colleague. The set menu was good but the portion size was a bit lacking meaning the table often ran out of a dish before everyone had got to sample it. The other issue was the table. We were situated at a large table near a sliding door onto the outdoor... More

My wife and I popped in for an unplanned lunch. The welcome was great, the place was busy but they had a spare seat outside which was a lovely place to watch the world go by. They do a $55 3 course lunch with a glass of wine which is hard to beat. We had some Oysters that were just... More

Went for a 6.15pm Saturday night dinner and were on time as we'd been told we had two hours, which is fine. But when we arrived it took over 30 mins for our food order to be taken, which meant we were then told we didn't have enough time to have the sharing plates. Disappointing but no matter the food... As mentioned by others, the Glebe Point Diner features an innovative range of food dishes coupled with an interesting and diverse wine list. The food is high quality, punctually and professionally served and at prices which are very reasonable. We very much enjoyed our evening at the Glebe Point Diner as it is an efficient, friendly and down-to-earth environment where... More

We've driven past this place a hundred times, but recently we walked in for a mid-week celebration lunch. The atmosphere was pleasant and compact. The food was fantastic - perhaps towards the fine-dining end of the spectrum. Don't go there looking for steak and chips. Do go there if you enjoy beautifully prepared food in a relaxed convivial environment

You have to be good in this foodie strip of Glebe Point Road but this place certainly pulls it off. Found this restaurant through Tripadvisor and it didn't disappoint. Great range of NSW wines and wider afield. Food range great but where they really surprise is the extensive range of specials per night. Shared the duck liver pate which was... More

5 of us attended Glebe Point Diner in June for a birthday lunch. The restaurant has a high ceiling and is compact compared to other restaurants. Consequently, it can get quite noisy. The food was well presented, tasty and deserving of the awards the restaurant has received. there were 6 entrees, 5 mains - pasta, vongole, fish pork and beef... More

We love Glebe Point Diner. We've been many times and have never been disappointed. The food and service is consistently excellent. I can't go past the pate for starter and the steak for main. And dessert- yum!

I understand this restaurant is run by investors who are not especially hands on in food, however they certainly run a tight ship. Both food & service is A!. Regretably no BYO for us aged & special variety buffs, however not a bad wine list. They opened an identical one in Neutral Bay, but I understand it was deemed too... More

Staying in Glebe

Neighbourhood Profile
Glebe
An inner city suburb along the water, Glebe has a deep-rooted sense of cultural history and heritage. It originated as a semi-rural resort for the well-to-do, but has transformed into a student-centric melting pot. Visit Glebe Point Road for ethnic cuisine as standard as Mexican, Indian, Italian and Chinese, or as diverse as Spanish, Bavarian, Polish, Czech and Lebanese. You will find that Glebe is accepting of the eccentrics and aboriginals that roam the streets, integrating students and people of all economic statuses into the multi-cultural fabric that distinguishes this suburb. Glebe Foreshore is a great destination for a leisurely walk along the Bay, and the Saturday market is a great scene for bargain hunters.
