Had breakfast here. Two poached eggs on sourdough toast with bacon for $10.00, all cooked well. When I arrived there was no one else in the restaurant so the service was fairly quick.

Zest is located inside the City Tattersalls Club and is a light airy room. The menu is uncomplicated but having dined there twice in the last month I can attest to the generous and tasty meals. A good choice of both starters and mains although I have never had room for desserts. One word of warning - the Starter, Charcuturie... More

This is a restaurant in a Gentlemen's club, City Tattersalls Club, collared shirt and casual dress codes apply. One can really enjoy a quiet lunch and dinner with family and friends without unwanted "rowdy" noisy people to spoil the experience. Good beer and wine selection. The meals come out of the same kitchen as for Esperanto fine dining restaurant next... More

This is the first time I had a "big breakfast" here (they call it a different name here but essentially it is what most sydney cafes would call a "big breakfast" and it was absolutely worth it... The restaurant is very close to the Sheraton on the park... definitely worth signing up for, for interstate/overseas visitors...

We visited this restaurant prior to attending a show at the State Theatre. We were very impressed that one of the first questions asked of us, was were we attending the theatre tonight. This then expedited the meal. The meals were very well priced and of the highest quality. The Veal Scallopine and the seafood red curry were both excellent... More

the menu looks promising we probably need to come back to try the main menu. We went here for coffee and desert before a show at the State Theatre which is across the road. The coffee was stone cold and undrinkable so left that on the table didn't have time to order another one. The desert was really nice

This is a good place for a business meeting at lunch time. It was not crowded and there was lots of room around the table. The servers were very pleasant. The food was good. The decor is looking a bit worn and feels like a refitted cafeteria.

I went there to celebrate a birthday. While the service was excellent (very friendly staff) the food is of poor quality and the prices are exorbitant, (e.g. $25 for fish and chips). The atmosphere (i.e. decore) is best described as that of an average well kept cafe - not up to the standard of an expensive resturant.

It has been awhile since I've been back. They now have a revamped menu. The first dishes we tried at this visit was the laksa and the pork belly which was absolutely delicious! We will be back to try definitely!

The only place in central CBD open for dinner on a Sunday - excellent choice of food and wines, plus friendly service, soft lighting and great value for money.

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
The Sydney Central Business District is abuzz with energy. Power brokers run to and from high rise buildings and after-work drink places, high-end shoppers tour venues like the QVB, and fine diners frequent the many celebrity chef restaurants. For a dose of culture, walk to the NSW Art Gallery, or visit the Sydney Museum. To escape the hustle and bustle, reconnect with nature at the Sydney Botanical Gardens or picnic lunch at High Park. No matter your interest, be sure to check the full calendar of events hosted by the city, from the Sydney Festival in January to October’s Good Food Month at Hyde Park.
