We ate on a Saturday night and the curry was lovely. However, the popadoms were on our table on arrival, without asking, so they obviously weren't frying them fresh and it seemed quite odd to order each dip individually at $3.50 each. Popadoms are normally a package appetiser with a small selection of dips included in all other Indian restaurants... More

We ate here fairly early on a Friday night and the food was decent. Vegetarian choice good and spicing was tasty and not blow your head off hot. Service was a bit hit and miss: first wait staff I think was brand new, 2nd one not much more experienced. We ended up with the manager when trying to order pickles... More

I had an exceptional Seafood Madras Curry in this restaurant, just the right level of 'spice strengh' it was delicious. Coupled with snappy service, Kingfisher beer and great nan bread made for a good night out. If you're in Sydney and fancy an Indian meal this is the place.

Walking up Oxford Street, to the cinema, we thought of the food to have after and decided to give this restaurant a try and we were not disappointed. We had samosas and duck for entrees, massaman beef and goat curry for main with basmati rice. Everything we had was great, the samosas full of flavour and the same for the... More

We called in here for an early dinner on a Saturday night prior to walking to a match at Allianz stadium. Very flavoursome samosas and delicious tandoori chicken - we went for the boneless because we were limited for time - which arrived at the table sizzling and full of lovely aromas. Would definitely come back and spend more time... More

Ordered the misti kumra masala (pumpkin, peas, lentils, cabbage) with peshwari naan and rice. Portion was just the right size, service was quick, and the food was good & well-priced. It's just across from The Colombian Hotel at the traffic lights.

We wandered up and down oxford street trying to decide where to eat and came back to the tandoori palace. It was a Sunday night and no one was in there. The staff were very personable and really looked after us. They accommodated the banquet to our choices. We had the goat and Parisian lamb; and it was amazing. Would... More

Had dinner here and thought it was pretty good. Good service, nice setting and the food was good. Certainly worth dropping in for a local curry.

Staying in Darlinghurst

Neighbourhood Profile
Darlinghurst
Home of the small bar revolution in Sydney, Darlinghurst has more bars per capita than any other suburb. Themes range from American whiskey bars and 1950’s theme bars to hidden bars requiring secret passwords. Oxford Street is the "Gay Capital" of Australia, where gay and lesbian-friendly venues feature “diva shows” and dancing until the morning. Vintage lovers flock to Crown Street, and small designer boutiques can be found along Victoria and Bourke Streets. Dining in Darlinghurst is a gastronomic adventure. Food from all over the world is on the menu, from American ribs to tapas, sushi to gelato and every ethnicity in between.
