We came upon The Pavilion by chance after having visiting the Art Gallery. We sat outside in the cafe and after discussion with the waiter we had the soft shell crab sliders. These were beautifully presented, very tasty and just enough for a light lunch though the menu offered a wide choice of dishes. Great setting, excellent service. Would thoroughly... More

Having been curious about this restaurant we arrived (group of 5) after a stroll through the Domain from Hyde Park and decided on lunch at this restaurant. No outside seating was available so we chose a spot inside. Menus were offered and water was poured. We ordered from the lunch menu and wine from the drinks list. In particular the... More

We took a stop here for an early lunch (11:30 am), after a long sightseeing walk and before visiting the Art Museum. We chose to sit outside under the awning, which was very comfortable given the hot summer day. Service was ambivalent to poor. Apparently we were in the "cusp" between breakfast and lunch, so the waitress was not sure... More

Nice to sit outside looking at the Domain. I had to settle for a bacon and egg wrap as there were no salads and they were out of the smoothie I wanted. Ok, but how hard is it to deliver a salad as advertised?

In addition to the more expensive restaurant there is a cafe /kiosk here as well. It does takeaway in addition to having a few tables and chairs. Reasonable value for money considering the tourist/gorgeous location. Wraps and sandwiches are tasty. The brownies are well priced at $4, and are absolutely fabulous!! A great place to watch the world go by... More

On my way to the Art Gallery I stopped here, at the restaurant, not the cafe, for a coffee to wait for a friend. Glancing at the menu, I decided lunch here was definitely on the cards. When we returned we were warmly greeted by the staff, seated exactly where we wanted [inside where it was cooler] and had bottled... More

No complaints about the food except that it took too long to arrive given the restaurant was nowhere near full and the waitress was confused about who had ordered what. Pork belly was lovely but the crackling not as crispy as I'd like - a colleague who ordered the same had a piece half the size of mine. The crème... More

Hugely disappointed. Service was slow and not friendly. We cleared our own plates after each course. The drinks package only included wine and beer but didn't specify this on the website so 2 of us who didn't drink wine and beer were unable to drink. We were offered 1 pimms to compensate . The Food was 'ok'. Probably average but... More

So $180 AUD for Christmas lunch plus 2 hours drinks package was enticing enough to get us to the Pavilion. Service was below average at best and we had to move our own table and clear our own plates. What's more annoying is the drinks package was only wine and beer (never advertised that way) and 2/3 of us don't... More

after a long walk in the botanic garden we walked into the pavilion for a much needed break over some cold drinks. A lady walked out of the back area, scanned both of us from head to toe, and asked us what we were there for. Slightly confused, I replied "some drinks". Seeing at least four other tables with ice...
