This is one of the well established Dim Sum restaurant in town. We came early on a weekday so securing a table was smooth as silk. All the Sew Mai, Hat Gaw and Buns were just perfect.

We eat here whenever we go to Chinatown with visitors. A bit on expensive side and crowded but food is always good. Stuffed tofu, scallops with snow peas salt and pepper squid , all good. Service ok, dessert after meal was nice too. Typical decent Chinese restaurant and always maintain this and nice good restaurant so we always go there.

Dad came to visit us so we decided to take him for lunch here. The foods were fresh and yummy. Quick service. We did enjoy and ate so much before headed down to China town.

Went for Yum Cha and what an experience. Seated quickly and everything that happened after that was quick. Serving trays every couple of minutes with different delicacies. If you're not sure about something it is hard to ask questions because the level of English is not very good - you get barked at before they walk off. Beware the fresh... More

THE WORST DINING EXPERIENCE I HAVE EVER HAD. This place is simply hideous. Grotesque. Abysmal. Please do not eat here. Today we visited for lunch and after waiting 15 minutes for a table we're lead to a table for 2 that was covered in empty plates, half eaten food, BONES!!, drinks glasses and stains. We couldn't believe it. The manager... More

We were seated straight away for Yum Cha and the food was great. I would go again for sure. Ended up being $20 per person and we had plenty of food.

We came here for some morning dim sum (Yum Cha in Australia). A wide selection of items and everything was tasty!

I have eaten at the Marigold throughout the course of my life. It used to be located elsewhere but now is located on George street near the Capitol Theatre. You know your in for good Yum Cha when the place is full to the brim and bustling! The onslaught of food is relentless and delicious. My only beef with the... More

Staying in Chinatown

Neighbourhood Profile
Chinatown
Tiger-flanked archways on Dixon Street mark the entrance to the “little Asia” of Sydney. A walk through Chinatown is a feast for the senses where aromas, tastes, sounds and visions of dancing tigers transport you to a different world. Chinatown visitors can expect a melting pot of Asian food at the neighbourhood's specialty delis and groceries. From yum cha to handmade noodles, BBQ ducks hanging in the window to Asian sweets and bakeries, there is something for all tastes. Paddy’s Markets is the largest flea market in Sydney where you can find souvenirs, clothing, gifts and fruit and vegetables at unbeatable prices. At night, Chinatown comes alive with entertainment including theatre, nightclubs and bars that are open until the early morning.
