We visited from Melbourne last Friday and we managed to secure two seats near the bar at the bench which was great for an early 6.30 start. The new filled egg net dish was sensational, sweet and sour to boot. The veggie curry to die...More

A long standing Sydney institution - never fails to deliver. Came for a wine dinner - food and wine were great. Favourites were the betel leaves and cuttlefish. Yum yum

So glad we dined at Longrain on a recent visit to Sydney. The staff were excellent with great recommendations and the food was delicious! Would definitely recommend!

I first ate here about 15 years ago. The food is still excellent - particularly the birds nest and pork dishes. But having also eaten at Longrain in Melbourne I think the table layout works far better there. Sydney's long shared tables are too wide...More

Delicious, creative Thai food. The pork hock and yam bean salad were especially good. The waiter we ordered from was helpful and kept us from over-ordering -- much appreciated as the place is not cheap. The communal table concept is potentially annoying, but we were...More

Longrain Sydney is located at 85 Commonwealth St in Surry Hills. Inspired by the communal eating philosophy of the Asian table, our menu is made up of dishes created for sharing. Longrain's menu has evolved from Martin Boetz's original Longrain vision, bringing South East Asian influences to carefully sourced ingredients with fresh, zingy flavours. His vibrant menu is carefully balanced with wines and cocktails chosen by restaurateur Sam Christie. Our long, shared tables encourage the spirit of eating together, so you can try each dish as part of a full tasting experience, just as it was intended (limited reservations available). Book one of our individual tables for parties between 6 - 10 people; or Private Dining Room for 12-18 guests.
