Best place to get your next choco cake. It is pricey but for that special occasion, it is probably worth it. I enjoy coming in for a look. It is a small shop and things do sell out by the afternoon. Head there early, otherwise pre-order.

Don't go to Lorraine's Patisserie to sit and have a cake as this place is mainly designed for you to watch them bake, grab a cake and go! But it's definitely worth having a takeaway cake at Lorraine! A little pricey, but definitely worth it! Worth booking on the internet if you have a good idea of what you need... More

We watched the bakers quickly preparing the tarts, pastries. and cakes while other customers stood in line to get whatever comes fresh out of the oven. Too bad the place is only for takeout, but the aroma was so tempting that we waited patiently in the line for their “Bert’s Beef Pie” and “Bert’s Pork and Fennel Sausage Roll” And,... More

Like a previous reviewer, I searched for best patisseries and decided to try Lorraines, since it was only 30 minutes walk away. The place is a bit curious, having large windows where you can see everything going on - and with 7 people working inside, there seemed to be a lot going on. However the area to choose your cakes... Eclairs are wonderful, chocolate cake amazing and everthing fresh. Expensive and they don't always have what you want but a great place non the less.

So many wonderful pastries so how do you pick one. Rhubarb looked great but so did the cheesecake - choices, choices? Great watching the team baking the pastries. Expensive but quality to match.

Prices reflect the quality so go with a full wallet. There is no ware to sit in this takeaway shop so... More

Real pastry is an art, something that takes hours and therefore should be savoured by the person eating it. Yeah, Lorraine's isn't cheap - but her chefs are uniquely trained and skilled and those prices reflect the sheer quality of the products and skill used to create them. My favourite is hands down the raspberry tart, with it's perfectly crumbly... More

Great location and fantastic open area where you can watch the pastry chefs at work. Not sure all the offerings are top notch but some of the treats are deliciously moorish. Aside from the rhubarb pies, be sure to try the apricot danish slice.

Gorgeous pain au chocolat and raspberry muffins. It's a little hidden away off George Street but well worth the find.

The intimate retail patisserie shop located on the corner of Palings Lane within ivy features an open pastry kitchen where Lorraine Godsmark and her small team of chefs bake throughout the day creating a range of delectable tarts, cakes, pastries, and slices available for take away. The deliciously decadent aroma of freshly baked lemon meringue, raspberry pecan cake and banana bread wafting through Palings Lane and into Ash Street is near impossible to resist.
