Service was a blit slow to start with, drinks took a while, but once underway the service throughout the jealously could not be faulted. We chose the Chef's menu rather than the tasting menu, four courses including two starters. Our starters of Tuna/venison/crab were all ok but nothing to shout from the rooftops about, however again, things improved, we loved... More

Located in a elegant old building, great environment especially for any kind of celebrations. Great service, attentive staff. But the food was just average and did not impress me and I think the food of Quay, which is another famous fine dine is much better.

We dined at Est. for lunch, on a visit to Sydney from NZ. From the moment we arrived the service was impeccable. Both the food and wine were absolutely delicious! We choose the three course option and that was ample for midday. Was a bit concerned we may be under dressed for a Friday afternoon (we were smart casual), however... More

My favourite Sydney restaurant! Est. is a very grown up and sophisticated dining experience. You enter through a rather busy bar down the bottom of the building but don't be put off. When the lift doors open you are in a quiet elegant dining room. The large room with it's sparkling chandeliers has an old world charm, yet the furnishings... More

Service was amazing from the minute I walked out of the elevator to my table. The quality of all 4 course meals were so yummy and presentation was beautiful. Our waitress was patient and explained the menu so well to us and helped us choose the best meals for each individual! They made me feel special as it was my... More

We dined here the last evening of our stay in Sydney. What a way to end a wonderful vacation! This was simply one of the best meals we’ve enjoyed anywhere. We opted for the four course chef dinner menu. I started with a half dozen delicious oysters as we each enjoyed a glass of champagne. Each of us then chose... More

It is difficult to place a monetary value on a superb dining experience. Quaffed a bottle of Cullen SSB with the Spanner Crab/Coastal Greens and Tuna/Melon entree course; delightful explosion of flavour notes. Moved onto a earthy Central Otago offering from Felton Road which paired robustly with the Aged Duck Breast and Rose veal Loin. Always lifts the bar to... More

We had an absolutely brilliant meal and wine pairing at est. The staff and service were uniformly outstanding. The only snafu was that I thought I ordered the cheese plate and the waiter had souffle. No problem The head somm Emmanuel did a great job of wine pairings. This was one of the finest meals I have had - BAR NONE!... More

A fine dining establishment with some french staff to match 2 menus for weekend dinner, 4 or 7 courses. I opted for the former The tuna sashimi came out quickly and was good. The cod was cooked asian style and excellent. The beef oxtail was sublime, didn't care for the betroot though. The cheese plate ended the night splendidly Good... More

I was taken to Est by a supplier for christmas lunch and was impressed. Setting and decor is wonderful, with alot of space between tables. We ordered from the Chefs menu and the variety was good. Food was tasty and incredibly well presented. Stand out was the passion fruit souffle. Service was professional but not too stuffy. Prices are high... More

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
The Sydney Central Business District is abuzz with energy. Power brokers run to and from high rise buildings and after-work drink places, high-end shoppers tour venues like the QVB, and fine diners frequent the many celebrity chef restaurants. For a dose of culture, walk to the NSW Art Gallery, or visit the Sydney Museum. To escape the hustle and bustle, reconnect with nature at the Sydney Botanical Gardens or picnic lunch at High Park. No matter your interest, be sure to check the full calendar of events hosted by the city, from the Sydney Festival in January to October’s Good Food Month at Hyde Park.
