Love the dumplings at Din Tai Fung, and the service is so fast it scares me a little. These aren't the best dumplings in town, but the fact that there is variety and they are so quick makes it all the worthwhile. I particularly enjoy their noodles in chilli oil to clear up the sinuses :P The restaurant has a... More

This was a regular early dinner spot on our recent visit to Sydney- so great for young children. This is a well oiled machine with fast and obliging service (if not always very friendly). Food is delicious and reliable- incredible noodles and dumplings. Expect a short wait if coming any later than 530 on a weekend.

I always love this place. It not cheap Asian food but man its good. You are crowded in there, it's noisy and super busy but everything tastes great- especially with a bottle of bubbles.

Refused to give me a table for 2 for lunch because my girlfriend had not yet arrived. I asked if I could wait inside, and was told I had to take a queue number and wait outside. I told them I would go elsewhere, and I won't be going back.

Menu is simple and great dumplings/soup, given cheap price point. Get in early as they do not take reservations and the place fills up quickly. Luckily food arrives quickly, so table turnover is fast. Our dumplings could have been hotter, but the food was delicious.

The dumplings are a must. Just delicious! Great to see the dumplings made to order. Very efficient service.

Enjoyed dinner with a larger group. The dumplings were excellent, other non-dumpling dishes were very good. Staff seemed somewhat inflexible with seating plans and set menu.

The service is always quick, and the restaurant is always crowded and loud. If you're a smaller party, be prepared to sit at a larger table with people you don't know. It's all part of the experience, and even if this sounds unsettling to you, it's worth it for the quality of food! Din Tai Fung has the best xiaolongbao... More

We arrived just before 6pm on a Saturday without booking and got a table straight away. You choose from the menu then fill in a menu sheet yourself, including drinks order, then hand it to the waitstaff. I think it's a great system, you are not waiting around for someone to come with the menu, then come back again later.... More

We didn't know what to expect when someone suggested we try out Din Tai Fung for dinner. The recommendation came with a warning - get there early or be prepared to wait! Well, we did get there early and we still had to wait about 30 minutes for a table. And was the wait worth it? ABSOLUTELY!! The food was... More

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
The Sydney Central Business District is abuzz with energy. Power brokers run to and from high rise buildings and after-work drink places, high-end shoppers tour venues like the QVB, and fine diners frequent the many celebrity chef restaurants. For a dose of culture, walk to the NSW Art Gallery, or visit the Sydney Museum. To escape the hustle and bustle, reconnect with nature at the Sydney Botanical Gardens or picnic lunch at High Park. No matter your interest, be sure to check the full calendar of events hosted by the city, from the Sydney Festival in January to October’s Good Food Month at Hyde Park.
