Good Selection of drinks, great beer and interesting selection of absinthe if your adventurous, beers pair well with the selection of schnitzels

The food was great, when it finally came, and the beer choice is quite nice. The staff are friendly, and the atmosphere of the place is nice and cosy, however, the service was rather poor. Even though it was only at half capacity, maybe even less, while we were there, the service was quite slow, and some of our orders... More

Attended a work party here and had the pig on a spit roast. Absolutely great taste and the beer flowing non stop, great atmosphere in the backyard with trees and cool seating arrangement, reminds you of country side in Europe. Excellent tasting food and awrsome hospitality.

This is a Czech bier cafe. Belgium beer cafes are dotted all over Sydney so this is already special. Add some amazing food. Awesome. Has an outside beer garden they were roasting a pig on the spit while we were there. You will not want to leave.

Food was great. Drinks came out very quickly after we ordered them. Food came out very quickly too. The pretzel was yummy but the halumi was brilliant. We both ordered the mixed platter. Very very good. When we asked for the bill we sat and waited for a while and no one came with it so we went downstairs and... More

If you need some good basic German style food then go here. Pork knuckle special on Fridays is great. They do schnitzels and sausages etc. Beers are a speciality and lots to choose from. Outdoor area is very rustic and perfect setting on a fine day. They can do a whole roast pig that serves 25 people on request!

It was a cold day so what better way to beat the chills than a beer cafe that serves schnitzel. This cafe serves european beer and hearty european food, think of Germany and Hungary. We started with one of the beers on tap cannot remember the name but it was very nice. Then we decided to share the shoe string... More

Went on one of those discount vouchers offered by many on-line companies. Many of these places turn out to be "duds" with below average food and wine packages often offered by proprietors just saying "look how good we are and yes we will let you eat in our restaurant as a favour". What a difference this place turned out to... More

Staying in Glebe

Neighbourhood Profile
Glebe
An inner city suburb along the water, Glebe has a deep-rooted sense of cultural history and heritage. It originated as a semi-rural resort for the well-to-do, but has transformed into a student-centric melting pot. Visit Glebe Point Road for ethnic cuisine as standard as Mexican, Indian, Italian and Chinese, or as diverse as Spanish, Bavarian, Polish, Czech and Lebanese. You will find that Glebe is accepting of the eccentrics and aboriginals that roam the streets, integrating students and people of all economic statuses into the multi-cultural fabric that distinguishes this suburb. Glebe Foreshore is a great destination for a leisurely walk along the Bay, and the Saturday market is a great scene for bargain hunters.
