Whilst deciding to check out this year's Sculptures by the Sea at bondi we began firstly at this little Vietnamese place tucked in a side lane next to the pub on the main road. Almost every item was gluten-free on the menu and is made fresh and fast. Very reasonable prices too. Loved the gf chicken satay rolls. Don't end... More

Friendly service, nice atmosphere, comfortable, reasonably priced Vietnamese - yummy food. Not a large menu but it all looked good with vegan options of almost everything. Very street food feeling, which we loved. We had rice paper rolls, Vietnamese pancake, vermicelli salad & satay chicken with quinoa rice. And a French bottle of Rose. Will definitely go back to try... More

Some hits and misses here. Pho is just ok, broth could be more flavoursome. Rice Paper Rolls could have more filling, they are a bit minimalist. The pricing is ok and the ambience is great, lovely fit outs, fun staff and a good atmosphere.

This place is wonderful. Not super cheap, but good quality food and service. My all time favourite is the Peking Duck Pancakes. Try the mint and pineapple slushy drink. So refreshing. This place is very popular with locals, you might have to wait for a table. I usually get takeaway. Walk a short distance up the hill towards East Sydney... More

Very excited to see an 'authentic' Vietnamese kitchen with a seemingly robust menu, only to be severely disappointed. $15AUD for their LARGE bowl would feed a child, not an adult. Broth lacked any type of pho-esque flavour (try Nissen Cup o Noodles next time...), meat was overcooked, noodles were not standard rice noodles (but rather thick cut almost linguine-like) and... I have read very polarising reviews about this place - even across different branches. I took a leap of faith and understood why people dislike it. The pho is of unacceptable standard in a city like Sydney where there are plenty of authentic Vietnamese options. The beef does not taste fresh, the broth has little flavours. Disappointed.

Great fit out, good atmosphere and staff friendly BUT food was average. We tried both the pork and shrimp dumplings and both had a very very very thick dough outer layer which really took away from the produce enclosed. This was a real disappointment and will probably sway our decision when deciding where to go next time. Rice paper roles... More

We wanted a quick and warm meal and this place was convenient and affordable. We enjoyed the pho and spring rolls - although the portions were small. Lots of flavour packed into each bite. We got what we paid for. Probably can find better vietnamese food in the city, this place seemed to cater to those who wanted Pho to... More

Staying in Darlinghurst

Neighbourhood Profile
Darlinghurst
Home of the small bar revolution in Sydney, Darlinghurst has more bars per capita than any other suburb. Themes range from American whiskey bars and 1950’s theme bars to hidden bars requiring secret passwords. Oxford Street is the "Gay Capital" of Australia, where gay and lesbian-friendly venues feature “diva shows” and dancing until the morning. Vintage lovers flock to Crown Street, and small designer boutiques can be found along Victoria and Bourke Streets. Dining in Darlinghurst is a gastronomic adventure. Food from all over the world is on the menu, from American ribs to tapas, sushi to gelato and every ethnicity in between.
