Had a refined dinner a la Carte. As a main we went for steak, which was perfectly grilled, and Barramundi. Appetizers were clams and assortment of raw fish. All dishes were prepared well with good ingredients. The setting is quite spectacular - old bank in all its grandeur.

This was my first visit to Rockpool and I was impressed. Amazing wine list, perfect steaks and sides. Everything was sensational.

We went for a romantic dinner out, and I must say we had a perfect night. The food and wine were just to die for, the service friendly and engaging and knew their products. Highly reccomened and we will be going again when we return to Sydney.

I was excited to try Rockpool and it being a friend's birthday decided to celebrate here. We were all disappointed. The food was average at best. I was shocked this could be such a well known restaurant in Sydney especially since it is so expensive as well. Service was so stiff they came across a little rude...

My wife and I enjoy Neil Perry's food. We normally go to the Bridge St restaurant, but unfortunately that is no longer part of the stable. As an alternative we tried the Hunter St venue for the first time in a few years. My wife struggles with the larger portions and had two starters. This time she had the grilled... More

Admittedly the venue itself is stunning set in such a beautiful building (although not sure I could say the same for the mezzanine anti room). The food was OK but not exceptional. I was unimpressed with the steak (too marbled) and the meat in the steak tartare wasn't lean enough for my taste. Can't fault the chips and potatoes though.... More

While we knew that this place was known as being quite expensive, it was supposed to be something special and a step above the rest. However, while it is certainly not bad, it was pretty unimpressive overall and at best I would rate it as average. Even if the prices were more modest I still would not make the effort... More

The old city mutual building in which this restaurant is housed is amazing. Despite many "business" diners choosing the various cuts of wagyu, I opted for some familiar comfort food from my home country ....Beef & Guinness Pie with Mushy Peas! Honestly it was truly outstanding. If I went back in a month, I'd order it again, despite the wonderfulyl... More

i have been taking my clients here over the years and what I like about it is the atmosphere; very elegant and spacious and quiet and the service; crisp, friendly and attentive. Still is all these things but the menu, the most important has changed. The wide choice is still there but there used to be a good selection in... More

Great food in the private dining rooms upstairs. Great panelled walls and intimate environment. Service was efficient and discreet. Maybe could have thrown in more sides as main courses were bare if you didn't get the sides

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
The Sydney Central Business District is abuzz with energy. Power brokers run to and from high rise buildings and after-work drink places, high-end shoppers tour venues like the QVB, and fine diners frequent the many celebrity chef restaurants. For a dose of culture, walk to the NSW Art Gallery, or visit the Sydney Museum. To escape the hustle and bustle, reconnect with nature at the Sydney Botanical Gardens or picnic lunch at High Park. No matter your interest, be sure to check the full calendar of events hosted by the city, from the Sydney Festival in January to October’s Good Food Month at Hyde Park.
