For more than a year I have been a happy customer of Cafe Belgenny, a small shopfront only a block from Oxford Street, behind Taylor Square. They open for breakfast and lunch only. My favourites are the bacon, lettuce and tomato on Turkish bread and the boiled eggs with avocado salsa. The staff are always welcoming. This is a popular... More

I've been eating at Belgenny for the past 10 years, the coffee is always very good, the people are friendly and they make a cracking bacon and egg sandwich on Turkish bread, for those who prefer something a little healthier they make a wonderful Bircher muesli.

A friend and I had breakfast here on a Monday morning about 10am. The full breakfast was excellent value and very tasty. Other items on the menu also looked very tasty and good value. The food took a little while to arrive but there were only 2 staff in the shop, but we were happy to sit on the stools... More

Belgenny has been consistently excellent over the 10 years we've been going there! The staff are always warm and welcoming, and they certainly know how to make a great coffee. The menu has some delicious breakfast options, and the scrambled eggs and bacon are some of the best around! A Saturday morning at Belgenny always gets the weekend off to... More

Great sandwiches, but usually very busy and crowded. Also good for peanut butter on toast and bacon and egg roll (but make sure you get BBQ sauce otherwise it's very dry)

Staying in Darlinghurst

Neighbourhood Profile
Darlinghurst
Home of the small bar revolution in Sydney, Darlinghurst has more bars per capita than any other suburb. Themes range from American whiskey bars and 1950’s theme bars to hidden bars requiring secret passwords. Oxford Street is the "Gay Capital" of Australia, where gay and lesbian-friendly venues feature “diva shows” and dancing until the morning. Vintage lovers flock to Crown Street, and small designer boutiques can be found along Victoria and Bourke Streets. Dining in Darlinghurst is a gastronomic adventure. Food from all over the world is on the menu, from American ribs to tapas, sushi to gelato and every ethnicity in between.
