We were really disappointed with Pendolino as we had heard so much great reviews about it. Took them 20 mins to give us the menu and they didn't serve us our salad even when we finished our pastas. Our bottle of wine was also half served when we finished our mains before dessert & we had the worst service at... More

The only problem with Pendolino is that at some point you have to leave. I am so pleased I have been introduced to this gem of a restaurant, it will definitely be visiting whenever I'm in Sydney. The service is impeccable - swift, professional and unobtrusive. A member of staff is by your side before you've even turned your head.... More

I visit here regularly and have never been dissapointed. Yesterday I tried the baked ocean trout - YUM! I usually go for their pastas, given they are made in house but felt it was time to try something else. When I was there last week I had the beef which I can highly recommend, it was like velvet. I really... More

Our 5th visit, a regular haunt when we come to Sydney and it's always good. Today was a spontaneous lunch on a grey rainy day when we were kicking around with not much to do. As ever the food was great: A burata and beetroot salad was totally delicious, magical homemade pasta with mushrooms, luscious pork belly and coffee, both... More

Having dined at Pendolino a number of times, I've always found the food and service to be amongst the best Sydney has to offer. This visit was no exception. Mains (including duck leg, beef, and pasta dishes) were excellent. Desserts were very good. And the wine selection was comprehensive and quite reasonably priced.

Only one word sums up this restaurant perfectly - pretentious. The food is mediocre and incredibly small in portion size in complete contrast to their wine prices which are ridiculously high. Service is poor and their attitude should you choose not to tip is cool. A huge disappointment.

This was an unexpected surprise on the 3rd floor of the Strand Arcade. It is like stepping into a restaurant in Rome. Hidden away up here I have never been before so it was a very pleasant treat to be taken here. The atmosphere and service are old school Italian and very very good. The wine list, excellent Italian wines... More

A place I remebered was good but having been out of Sydney for a while, this was just as great as a few years back. Service was informative and friendly. Pasta was impeccable. Beetroot salad starter was great. Yum!

We had asked at our hotel for a quiet Italian restaurant to celebrate my wife's birthday. They recommended Pendolio, and it turned out to be a horrible mistake that left my wife in tears. We arrived on time and were escorted to a "special" table. The only thing special about it was that it a horrible table near the bar,... More

It's been a while since I've been to Pendolino and I realize the error of my ways after my recent visit. Outstanding pasta, extremely tasty and also a little different to the usual Italian fare on offer all around Sydney. We had 2 fishy pasta dishes, one with black squid ink and one with prawns and chilli and both were... More

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
The Sydney Central Business District is abuzz with energy. Power brokers run to and from high rise buildings and after-work drink places, high-end shoppers tour venues like the QVB, and fine diners frequent the many celebrity chef restaurants. For a dose of culture, walk to the NSW Art Gallery, or visit the Sydney Museum. To escape the hustle and bustle, reconnect with nature at the Sydney Botanical Gardens or picnic lunch at High Park. No matter your interest, be sure to check the full calendar of events hosted by the city, from the Sydney Festival in January to October’s Good Food Month at Hyde Park.
