The Fox and Bow!
What a beautiful place and great vibe for a cafe and brunch on a Sunday.
The staff were awesome and especially the male on the front counter who served us, his memory and organisational skills were 10/10 which I haven’t seen in many cafes. Top work! The food was awesome. I had the Mr Fox and it filled me up. I like the vibe, the chefs certainly pumped the food out quickly and it tasted 10/10.
I’m coming back with my partner for sure one day this year. Oh, the coffee was good too!

First time visit after friends recommendation. Great menu choices with all offerings available all day. Kids menu too and some special iced coffees. Great vibe from staff and excellent welcoming and friendly service. We chose rolls or burgers followed by a special baked cheesecake dessert. Scrumptious and we couldn’t finish so were offered little boxes to take our desserts home for laters. Hot chocolate and coffee perfection. Seemed to be doggo friendly too. Will be back no worries. Happy to also donate to owner Alex’s fundraiser for homeless. Champion 🏆

They have great options for gluten free, vegetarian, vegan. Their food is fresh such as their toastie has avocado, tomato, lettuce. Food comes quickly with quirky names, nice presentation, and excellent taste. The food ranges from $10-20ish. They have options for light meals or slightly heavier. Good portion sizes- great staff and setup. perfect for anything, (it does get very busy however) but for family outings, catch up with a friend or business catchup.
The manager is amazing and the staff are very friendly.

I have just had the most terrible experience at this cafe! Funky decor and good quality ingredients do make up for the appalling rudeness of the owner.
After getting my order for toast on the side incorrect because I hate soggy toast the owner suggested I just slide it out from beneath the eggs. I explained it wasn’t the position of the on the plate but that I wanted the toast separate (which was why I ordered it on the side). She then took my plate to the kitchen huddled over it with 2 of the staff and returned it to me without any toast saying it would arrive shortly. It did but although the top piece was dry the bottom piece was
just the previous piece retoasted. It was soggy in parts and had bits of egg clinging to it. At the end of breakfast we asked to speak to her as we thought it was something she’d like to know about.
It was then I copped a mouthful of abuse saying I was difficult, fussy and had attitude. I found this offensive particularly as I had not complained when the coffee spilled in the saucer when it arrived at the table, nor when I saw a staff member run his hand through his hair before handling food. Sadly she was unwilling to listen to my feedback again telling me I had walked in with attitude and was too fussy.
My view is that at times things go wrong but you accept the criticism, apologies and rectify the problem.
Nor so at the fox and now!

Just bought a toasted Reuben sandwich from the F&B takeaway shop at Red Hill shops, located next to the post office.
Arrived home to open up a sandwich whose paper wrapping was melted into the bread on both sides and unable to be peeled away.
Obviously had been in the sandwich press with the paper on and I find it hard to believe the salesperson would not have seen this prior to handing it over. After toasting he put it in the microwave, which made me a little suspicious but only confirms for me that he was aware of the issue.
Absolutely not good enough and I won’t be back.

Really sorry about that. Come down and we’ll refund your money and make you a new one. We’re trying to work out the best way to get these sandwiches as efficiently as possible to you. Clearly that wasn’t the right way. But we’re human and if you just tell us then of course we feel terrible about that and want to rectify for you. If all everyone just does is out shameful reviews out on public domains, how do we get the chance to repair what’s happened. Imagine if that was the way all issues in life were dealt with. Imagine if that’s what we tell our children to do. “Had a bad experience with anything? Publicly shame them”. That’s really sad. End of the day we’re sorry. We’re trying hard to create a good product, all in house, fresh, and fast. We made a mistake. We’ll fix it. Thanks for alerting us to the issue. We hadn’t been made aware of this before. Our bad.

Went for breakfast, ordered the Zucchini fritters, what was presented looked like the left over Zucchini balls from a Turkish Restaurant. They were practically black, totally dried out and swimming in Hummus and Tabouli. I suggest the chef gets a Recipe book and learns how to make fritters.
Would not return.

My wife and I stopped by for brunch yesterday and were lucky to get a table straight away. We ordered the Mr Fox and were greatly surprised by the quality and size of the meal. Would highly recommend this cafe if your looking for great atmosphere, service and great food. It is also very family friendly.

After being seated at 4 seater table for 10minutes witch consisted of myself and 2 young children and my order placed, I was told to move to a 2 tiny seater table with extra chair. I said I didn’t want to move and told I had to. Apparently staff had not reserved a table for a booking.
I did not leave as kids hungry. I posted this review about 6 weeks ago and can’t find it anywhere. I was also replied to by owner on trip advisor to email him at Fox and Bow as he would like to keep me as a repeat customer. I did this and have heard nothing in reply since.
There are plenty of good cafes in Canberra, so avoid this one.

Came in on a Sunday, it was very busy but the service was still efficient and friendly.
The food was delicious, I couldn’t get enough, and all the staff were friendly and polite.
The owner, Alex, seems like a great bloke, he was very chatty and treated everyone with the utmost respect.
Overall, I loved the atmosphere and experience!
Definitely coming back!

Went with friend who frequents this cafe and she was right. Busy at 10am on a Friday but we managed to get a covid safe table. Order and pag at the counter. Service quick and staff friendly. We had coffees and shared a very tasty lemon merangue tart. They don't take bookings so pick your time to go. Seemed to be popular with cyclists too.

Great hidden cafe in Farrer!
Fox and Bow has a fantastic atmosphere and inviting, friendly staff who all have warm smiles, making you feel comfortable. The morning bun I had along with late was just what I needed for an afternoon meal! I love coming to Fox and Bow knowing each time I return I’ll get the same quality and hospitality.

My family (2 kids under 4, my husband and myself) went to fox and how because we had their food once a couple of months and loved it. However, on our second visit, we were treated like garbage by the owner. We had come first ti the busy cafe before a rude and aggressive and privileged couple walked right past us- and told one of the servers they want a table. But we were treated very well by a non Australian male staff member and took our name down and told us we would be next. Ok great. We waited a while and a table of four e came avaislble. That previous couple aggressively took the table (a young white couple who gave us looks as if they deserved it). Our kids were crying cos they wrrr hungry. And the male server was very polite and tried to apologise. But another member of staff told him the couple should get the table. Then when we finally got a table and that female staff member came to us witb our coffee I asked her what motivated her to give the table to people who came before us because now the kids were crying from hunger (she told us the food be awhile). And she had gone and told the owner Alex that I yelled at her and kept crying. So the owner Alex marched marched at us and demanded we answer why we made his staff member cry. He didn’t even gen ask what happened. Told us we should be ashamed to have made his staff cry and so much more bs. He then told us will give you a refund and leave. Sooo rude. Both our kids were crying as wanting food and there this owner telling us fine go if you complain. Then he gives our kids BURNT pancakes (pics will be attached). Omg the poor kids. They were saying how hungry but can’t eat them cos bitter (keep in mind our kids 2 and 4). The staff member who was nice to us apologised profusely while the drama queen staff member just kept on being herself and working while my kids starved.
The owner kept blaming me and my family cos his staff and arrogant customers took our table. And the most bizzare part is he went over to the aggressive customers and treated them soo nicely. The male staff member who was very nice and reasonable and just was left alone too. He apologised how we were treated. But Alex even said he doesn’t care about theee rgieww cos he has his people visiting the cafe and he doesn’t need us. He said we would be doing him a service if we didn’t visit. My god the attitude of his was unbelievable. I really think he has a problem after reading similar reviews of his attitude o Facebook. The food may be good but I will never support anything by him. He is full of arrogance and thinks he is hrewt. Can you imagine working for him? No one can probably say anything negative. He probably lets them go. He was so dismissive. He made our girls starve, gave burnt pancakes and wronged us for asking what went wrong.
I really wish more people would tell how bad this man is. He is a terrible terrible human.

Attentive staff and great food served for a table of 7 quickly during a busy morning period. Could not ask for more. A regular cafe for us and never disappoints.
