We’re big fans of Indian food and our good friends were keen to show off their favourite ‘local’, an easy walk around the corner from their home. The food was absolutely delicious, with a big gold star going to the Bollywood Leg of Lamb. All...the dishes we tried were outstanding and the service was excellent. The only (minor) whinge was that, even though it was a cool autumn (almost winter) evening, the heat was turned up waaaay too high and it wasn’t just the spices that made us perspire our way through the evening!More

The staff were lovely and very friendly, the food was some of the best I've had recently - highly recommend the Samosa Chaat, which was just delicious and crunchy and saucy in all the right ways. The Gourmet Naan was also deliciously interesting. Nice tweaks...on traditional dishes,.More

Had a take away on Friday night and it was awful. The food was cold and not very spicy. The naan bread was the smallest serve I’ve ever experienced. The rice was great! I won’t be back though.

Very good meal but social distancing a problem. The staff don’t seem to realise that tables should be separated and there was the capacity to distance tables but when more people arrived the staff sat them close to other full tables even though there were...tables further away that were vacant. Clean toilets but no soap for washing hands not good! Staff friendly and food very good. I could recommend the roast lamb curry and samosas. I will return but hope they have decided to put soap in the bathroom.More

Was looking forward to again dining in this restaurant which I patronised when it was in Dickson for many years during visits to Canberra on business. We like spicy food however our dishes lacked the balance and subtly which charaterised the cuisine at Dickson. Wish...Bollywood Masala the best and that it regains its good Indian foodMore

This local Indian restaurant hidden in the Kingston shops is a gem. All the food was good but the Malabari prawns and the leg of lamb were stand-outs. The dinner banquet was good value and served promptly. The staff were knowledgeable about gluten free and...very helpful throughout the night. They also do take away if you are just passing through. Give this place a go.More

Other reviewers had given generally good reviews of the Bollywood Masala Kingston, so we tried it on our first return trip to Canberra for more than a decade. It’s in the heart of Kingston, but surprisingly it was one of the few restaurants open on...the Sunday evening, though it proved up to the task. The food was genuine Indian cuisine, the décor smart and pleasant, the staff friendly. The Bollywood Samosa Chat ($12.90) and the Tandoori Mushrooms ($14.90) made ample and flavoursome starters but the Bollywood Masala Squid ($32.90) was eye-opening. A couple at a nearby table overheard us discussing the menu and recommended we try it. They were not wrong. I don’t know if it’s always served this way, but FOUR sizeable squid arrived, exquisitely stuffed with tandoori barramundi, onions, tomatoes and spices and smothered with “the Chef’s special gravy”. One each would have been ample but two each left us yearning for bigger stomachs. Memorable.More

Ate here with friends one evening during the week. The place was not very busy or noisy; which made conversation very pleasant We had the leg of lamb, the fish from the Chef's specials, a daal, and a chicken tikka masala, with a few naans,...rotis, rice, etc. The lamb was excellent, and everything else was very good as well, although the naans could have been better. The only negative was that we felt the potions were a bit small, and the cost of BYO per bottle was a bit expensive. Service was friendly and courteous; they let us know before hand that the fish would take a bit of time to cook and be served.More
