Have visited a few times. Great soup and sandwiches enjoyed on the verandah. Lovely selection of baking to enjoy on the spot or take home to enjoy later

Won't be back for dinner. Diner style presentation. Overcooked 1/2 chicken with overcooked potatoes slathered in heavy gravy. Afraid of what the duck confit would be! Décor unimpressive, needs work. Get rid of those drapes!

Many good treats at the roost plus more kinds of tastey breads than I care to list. The bakery and restaurant are together and so when I drop by after a meeting with my pals we do luncj at the Roost. I usually get a sandwich and soup or a salad. The sandwiches are always thick with fillings. Some of... More

I really liked the new lay out, we had ruled the Roost out as a regular for dinner because it was so cramped previously. The new set up is very nice, the bar looks amazing. The service was very good as well, top not. Our food was good, but a bit bland I gotta say. We had a couple appies,... More

The Roost used to be one of my favourite spots, sadly nolonger! I have visited twice since the new addition. What used to be a charming place to visit has been turned into a disappointing, average restaurant. The service was terrible! The waitresses seat you and then ignore you. Even though the food was good, we were so annoyed by... More

So noisy you can't carry on a conversation. Ceiling is low and no sound baffles. This was our first visit since the restaurant was opened and we entered the restaurant from the bakery. There was no signage that we had to go to the reception desk and followed another couple to a table which was suitable. A waitress/hostess (not sure... More

Thank you very much for sharing this story. It is hard to hear this sort of thing when we've been working so hard to ensure a great local experience with our new winery & bistro. Having said that, we take full responsibility for our staff - we do not take these comments lightly - we will be acting accordingly. We... More

We have always loved the food and ambience of the Roost Bakery. We were so happy to hear they were expanding and we did enjoy our dinner there the other night. The wait staff were great, pizzas were great but what we thought was lacking was the farm house atmosphere that worked so well for the bakery. I expected the... More

Long awaited additions are now complete and the full title of this establishment is now " Roost Farm Bakery and Vineyard Bistro". Located just off the main highway from Victoria to the Airport and the Vancouver and US Gulf Island ferries, we first found it for a splendid breakfast a month or so ago on our way to the ferry.... a friend recommended this place for their freshly made meals. We ordered soup & Montreal smoked beef sandwich. The sandwich was generously loaded with beef and the soup was very creamy broccoli and cheese. The restaurant has only been open for a short time as this place first started as a bakery. The restaurant is an open floor plan, family... More

We enjoyed our meal but feel the portion sizes should be greatly reduced. They only had one glass of red wine left, so one of us had to have beer. The meals were delicious and the service was great. We had to ask for water and ice but that was no problem and it came quickly. All in all a... More

Description
We are a passionate farm! We create and share locally grown food and wines Situated in the heart of North Saanich's pastoral landscape, the focus is on local food and wine, and sustainability. More than just a bakery/cafe, The Roost roosts on 10 acres of farmland where we grow many items used to produce the food we proudly serve. The wheat grown and milled on-site is used to bake breads fresh daily. The blueberries, sheep, and a unique vineyard, all add to the authentic experience. You'll love coming out to our place! Whether you sit on the porch, get comfy in the secret garden, relax on our "chicken-bus", or laze at a picnic bench looking out over the farm and vineyard, you are sure to enjoy a passionate farm experience!
