Good food, good service but the best thing has to be the setting, just set back from the river it's a great place to spend time with family and friends.

Had a family Birthday gathering with total group of 15; ten adults and five kids aged 7 to 15. Staff had us squeezed up against another large party gathering, yet there was ample space to have separated the two groups. Got drinks smartly but took over an hour for meals to arrive. Quality was good but helping sizes small compared... More

Thank you for taking the time to write. We agree that the wait for food was abnormally long, not an hour, but approximately 45 minutes. We do not agree that the long wait was a result of our service. The booking consisted of three families. Two families were on time however the third family was running 20-25 minutes late. Once... More

My husband and I took our 18month old for lunch as we were in the area and had heard good things about the food and wines. We were not disappointed! We shared the cured meat to start (nice and light given the rare showing of sunshine in Victoria,) then had the slow cooked lamb and the smoked trout. We pared... More

Nothing beats sitting on a deck admiring the river and appreciating the back drop of bush gums.. Pick a nice day and head out to Nagambie, whilst there enjoy the history and ambiance of Tahbilk along with this popular eating spot.. Breakfast finishes early and there is a gap before lunch.. So choose one or tother until they catch onto... More

Thank you for the review. Just to clarify though the cafe does not serve breakfast. On weekends it opens from 10 am for coffee/cake, with lunch available from 11am. Mondays, Thursdays & Fridays open at 11am. More

After driving 2 hours to get to venue, they refused to cook lamb in any other way other than medium rare. I was disappointed to say the least and would not go back. I considered this unreasonable service.

The review posted here is incomplete and as a result misleading. This person did attend the Tahbilk café and ordered a lamb dish and requested it to be cooked well done. It is usually served medium-rare. The waitress said the lamb is not usually cooked well-done but would check with the chef. The chef confirmed that the dish would not... More

The cafe is at the Tahbilk Winery, Tabilk.(no "h"). The winery is 156 years old and very rustic. The cafe/restaurant is modern and set beside the Goulburn River on the same property.I hchose smoked duck with pea rosotto and was absolutely to die for. Very generous serving too. My friend had Pulled Pork and that was really sumptious. Cant remember... More

Leisurely lunch with a friend, requested to sit outside and take in the gorgeous surroundings, despite the weather being overcast. We had a selection of entree, main and sides, to share. Waitress was pleasant and helpful, contributing to our wine selection, which was the GSM. We felt like the only people there, taking in the birdlife and wetlands, and enjoying... More

I took my partner here for lunch on Father's Day, to enjoy time in this region before our late afternoon performance as part of the Nagambie Festival of Opera. I had the best savoury pie I've had in years - smoked and braised beef brisket, flaky crust pastry, light and smooth horseradish cream, served brilliantly with warm pickled red cabbage... More
