Absolutely fantastic home cooked food. Would love to come back again next year. Everyone so friendly.

I was first introduced to this restaurant four years ago. I was fortunate to visit again twice on my recent trip to Lucca. The food is traditional local dishes all of which are delicious. My particular favourites are the bruschetta, spaghetti alla coniglio and tagliatelle...alla cinghiale. The red house wine is superb and we always sample the limoncello following the meal. The portions are more than ample. The family and staff are very attentive and helpful. The restaurant is in a beautiful location and well worth the journey to get there. Sandra's family have kept the restaurant as it was when she was alive. I am very much looking forward to my next visit!More

If you want to experience a proper Italian/Tuscan family meal, this is where you want to go. We were taken here by a friend who lives locally, as it's a family favourite - and rightly so. Sandra's daughter Serena looked after us the evening we...were there, and she explained what was on the menu that night. We had the antipasti for the table, which was a huge plate of pickled veg, bread, meats, and fried polenta. We shared a boar macaroni (which is actually cut up sheets of pasta, like lasagna) as a secondi that was so flavourful and fresh. Somehow, I managed to find room for a main: local trout served simply with lemon, oil, herbs, with crispy smoky edges from the wood fire oven. All of the food was so simple, but incredibly delicious. When you eat here, it's like being at a family function. Everyone is seated in one, large room but it never feels too noisy or crowded. We had a huge table of men seated behind us and we would never even know they were there. Some people had kids wandering around, but it's not an issue because the space is so big. It was a wonderfully relaxed, filling, amazing meal. We had our food with the house wine (there is only a choice of red or white house wine but they are both excellent.) All of this was an astounding €40 for three of us, including 1 litre of wine. This place is special. It's in a breathtaking location and you are made to feel like part of the family when you're here. We were here last night and enjoyed ourselves. No menu but the helpful, English speaking waitress was able to advise. Antipasti was great and very large. Delicious pasta, I particularly appreciated that there were several vegetarian sauces for my daughter to choose from. I shared...a secondo because the pasta was large! Very good value food.More

When my family brought me here for the first time, I was overwhelmed by the amazing ride to get there. The rich background of terraced olive groves, mountainous terrain, and stone farmhouses are part of the whole experience of eating here. No menus- the fresh...food of the day is rattled off by the waitress. We ate for hours and food was served "family style" on platters and you got to taste all kinds of dishes. Noise level can get high as people are talking and laughing as if at Sunday dinners at home. We will return every time we return, for sure.More

This place never fails to provide good quality food with huge serves! The pasta is made in house and is always fresh, just like my mum used to make. Good quality food real cheap prices, worth the trip there! Beautiful place! Went here on my...last three trips to Italy, Never disappoints.More

Despite the sad demise of Sandra this restaurant continues to shine. Situated in a beautiful valley the premises, though large, are bustling at the weekend and you need to book and get there early for Sunday lunch if you hope to get in the car...park! The food is typically Tuscan and very well made, we had the roast proscuitto for the main course a it was both tender and delicious. The kitchen runs like a well oiled machine and the staff are exemplary. Thank you everyone.More
