My annual visit to one of the best restaurants where I have had the pleasure of tasting good food. Especially today, I followed the chef's brother's recommendation, a succulent duck breast (a difficult meat to work with, but in skilled hands, delicious), with rice and cheese and an incredible guava sauce. Divine. My wife ate a very plump trout and very appetizing apricot risotto. I've been going to this restaurant for almost 10 years, and the stable, impeccable quality of service and excellent food make this restaurant an icon of gastronomy in Maringá RJ.

One of my favorite restaurants in the Visconde de Mauá and Maringá region, and I know many restaurants in the region that I have been visiting for over 11 years. The view is spectacular, the food is sensational, the service is great and the price is fair. The restaurant is small, but huge in quality. I highly recommend it.

Restaurant located in the center of Vila de Maringá in RJ, on the banks of the Rio Preto.
Pet friendly and very pleasant place to have a leisurely meal and enjoy the view with the sound of the River in the background. Good drink recommendations (pinhão beer). As a starter we ordered a burrata. And main course trout with red fruits.

Wonderful food. Very wonderful indeed. Top service from Gabriel. He was just paying attention! I was with my 3 year old daughter. He took care to bring her some lentil broth that was from the gods. She didn't turn on the blender near us so as not to wake her up. The view is so beautiful. Eat while admiring the river. Listening to the noise. With food that was very wonderful. It was so worth it! I highly recommend it!

Just spent 5 nights in Maringá, a remote mountain destination for Brazilians but not anglo-speakers. Had homemade pasta as good as any had at home in DC, Italy, or elsewhere. Dishes are creative and delicious and very good value compared to São Paulo, DC and other international cities, despite requiring great expense to bring in ingredients via long and difficult mountain route. All except local fresh truta (trout, of course). Zucchini had absolutely fresh trout. Though local, several other high-end restaurants served either previously frozen or overcooked trout. The couvert is an excellent starter. Entrees vary in size but 4 we tried were all superb. The restaurant is very small, intimate, with open windows right alongside scenic rapids in the brook running through center of town. Make reservations if there seem to be a lot of people in town. Best of all, we were served by one of the sweetest, most welcoming persons in 6 weeks in Brazil. She appears to manage the floor and very graciously worked with us and Google translate, despite being very busy because the place is very popular. And she remembered from our first visit that we like to share dishes and during our second visit proactively enquired if we wished to do the same and have our dishes as successive courses. Could not ask for better or kinder service.

we stumbled across this new restaurant (open only a month in december 2015) and were very glad we did! serious food by great young chef, much more sophisticated that we expected in visconde de maua. very small, nice location overlooking the little river. have the roast suckling pig! and dont skip the excellent couvert.

Terrible service. I don't even know what to write here because I didn't have the opportunity to enter the restaurant, I was greeted at the door and sent away at the same time, even though the restaurant was supposedly open.
