If you are familiar with Fung Lum in Bedford, the Gold House Restaurant is owned by the same people. We stopped in today for lunch. The restaurant is a little tired looking, I thought. Could use a little 'update'. The menu had a nice variety, combination plates, luncheon specials and more. Hubby ordered a luncheon special of fried rice, egg roll and honey garlic ribs. I ordered a luncheon special of fried rice, egg roll and lemon chicken. The egg rolls were a nice size and were tasty. Both of us were pleased with our choices, a good portion for lunch and good food. Hubby said the ribs (5) were meaty and tender. My lemon chicken was a large portion and was nicely done. Not overbattered, or overcooked. Both of our luncheon specials were $9.95. We would probably return if in the area and were looking for Chinese food.

Always Consistent

I love this Chinese food rest. The food is always consistent and plentiful. I love their Spicy Chicken and their ribs are almost always fall off the bone.

Excellent chicken chow mein!

I discovered this place on Trip Advisor and it was our first visit. We were early so there weren’t that many people in the restaurant, but there were loads of people getting take out. My husband ordered the combo plate with an egg roll, fried rice, chicken chow mein and chicken balls. I ordered the combo plate with an egg roll, fried rice, chicken chow mein and spicy chicken. The portions were very generous and I ended up bringing some home. The chicken chow mein was fresh and tasty, and was my favourite part of the meal. One guy was there to pick up his meal and told us he eats from there every other week. Another lady picking up her take-out told us to get the lemon chicken next time. She said it is made with real lemon and is delicious. My husband loved the chicken balls because there was lots of chicken with a light batter. The lady who served us and worked the cash was sweet and helpful. We will definitely be going back to this restaurant.

This place usually has good food but today when I got a take out order I was severely upset. I ordered a meal with a few items, one being sweet sour chicken. When I opened it at home I discovered I was given sweet sour shrimp. Thing is I am allergic to seafood so I had to throw away what I paid for.. when I called to report this I was told “sorry” and to bring it back. I am 20 mins away so I was not going to do this. Drive 20 mins out and 20 mins back home again. She even told me that I ordered shrimp.. well no. Why would I if I can’t eat it. Pretty big mess up and I’m glad I smelled it instead of biting into it. Pretty disgusted right now

This was once a great place to have Chinese food in the Windsor area but that was under different ownership. The food tastes like it was just dropped from a plastic bag into a deep fryer and then onto your plate. The service is non-existent. The prices are far to high for what you get in return. There is nothing here that will bring me back.

We love the food at Gold House. They have an extensive menu and very good prices. Eat in or take out. Dining room is licensed and staff are very easy to deal with.

Convenient location, great lunch specials for adults ($6.95) and students ($5). Caution: If ordering the $5 student special mention "Student special" not kids meal as it is more expensive. The food is good. I order from here often. Very good food. Friendly staff/family running the restaurant.

The atmosphere is family style utilitarian - plastic tables and open. The menu is typically what one would find in most roadside Chinese restaurants. That said, the servings were quite generous and the food tasty and the prices quite reasonable considering the quantity of food.
