Pop in by chance and stayed for one of the wonderful lunches ever. Place is very cozy informal and inviting. Filled with locals or italians on holiday. Great started platters of local artisan meats and cheeses with fresh bread and glass or few of home wine. and this is only to start with. Pasta and mains come slowly (so you... More

This Cantina would more rightly be regarded as a rustic restaurant in Australia or North America, but whatever you call it, it is a sheer delight. It is located a short way (say, 150 yards) up the hill from the railway station as you exit to the left, and is in a corner of the cobblestoned piazza, the first you... More

We had the most amazing meal at Cantina Simonetti. Authentic Italian restaurant where local people eat. You will not be disappointed. In a beautiful square very rustic.

We entered this nearly empty restaurant on the quiet Piazza San Rocco about 1:30 p.m. on Sunday. Within twenty minutes the modest-sized place was entirely full. It is a simple restaurant with benches and chairs where one sits, family-style, at one of a number of long tables; there is just a single separate table for two. Our server quickly understood... Located in the heart of the old part of the Frascati town, it is a typical Roman "family - run" restaurant/hosteria type place which is very popular with the Romans and especially on week ends requires a reservation. Typical Roman dishes, the "antipasti" with the characteristic "porchetta" are a must as well as the meat and pasta dishes. Good local... More

Very expensive for the amount of food they serve. We ordered an antipasto for 2 and they brought a couple of plastic plates with very few vegetables. Meat and cheese variety was decent. Food was prepared behind a glass with bare hands. It may be a common practice in restaurants but it wasnt nice seeing it. Pasta was heated in... More

What a great surprice;-) We went to Frascati on Sunday for a trip from Rome! What a lovely place by itself, away from busy, busy Rome! Well weather could be better, but who could you blame for it:-) After short walk around the town, we found this small cantina Simonetti. We entered and we got a table straight away, even... More

One of many small cantinas/osterias in Frascati. This one has a better-than-average appetizer plate, with bread, salami, prosciutto, cheese, olives, and delicious porchetta. Enough for a light dinner, for about 10 Euros. Other food is apparently available as well. Closed Monday year-round, and closed Tuesday in Winter.
