Had dinner for two when in the hotel and the choices were adequate and varied. We had lamb and suckling pig with the latter much better than the former but both tasty and enjoyable. Ambience a little like the hotel with high ceilings and "cold" feeling. Very popular with the hotel guests and overall very acceptable.

We have breakfast buffet at the Parador every day and it was really good. Lot of local products, cheese, charcuterie and local sweet bread.

We really felt welcomed for Saturday lunch. Both took the autumn/winter menu. Good choice of excellent dishes, some local specialities. To be recommended!

We stopped here for lunch. It was pretty unremarkable. The service was good and the food was also. there was no imagination in the preparation of the food or the presentation

We stayed at the Parador and enjoyed a lunch and dinner there. As most paradores, the emphasis is on the food of the region. It was competently prepared and very tasty, but no real evidence of imagination or flare in the cooking. But in fairness, that is not their aim. We found their lunch and dinner offerings the same, which... More

The evening meal was served in the breakfast room and not the main dining room. Staff were very condescending and the food was lack lustre. The dinner was a true reflection of the Parador in general. Would not return or recommend.

We had a wonderful night here in October 2015; we are only sorry that we could no extend for more nights! The free drink at the bar was nice, and the food in the restaurant both for dinner and breakfast the next morning was excellent!

After visiting Teatro Romano and Anfiteatro Romano de Merida, we came to the hotel, Parador de Merida. The restaurant located inside the hotel, it’s spectacular and large. Service was cordial and responsive. Had a beautiful menu. Food was presented very well and tasty. The dessert: extremaduran flowers on home made custard was just extraordinary!

We only had breakfast but were amazed by the choices. A hot buffet - Spanish style bacon and eggs etc., pastries and cakes, fresh fruit, yoghurts, etc. etc.

Nice decent traditional spanish cuisine, not exceptional in any way but a good meal it was. On weekends the bar next to the restaurant becomes animated with a local crowd.
