Our family group of 8, went for Sunday lunch, to celebrate my mother's 80th birthday at The White Bear - somewhere we have been to many times before. The food was excellent (as usual) and without exception, everyone in our party enjoyed what they had - Pork belly x3, Rack of Lamb x2, Fish, Turkey & 1 other. Having requested... More

Six adults went for a birthday meal and found this place really nice. I had steak that was beautifully cooked and there was also a side of vegetables. All the meals looked amazing and I would highly recommend this place to someone wanting that little bit extra treat. It is above your normal food pricing but at the end of... More

Since we moved from Northamptonshire to West Yorkshire, we often look for meeting venues to get together with friends for a pint, a bite and a catch up, this pub is ideal for us, exit 29 going south, exit 28 driving north. Duck your head when you enter, the low beams in the cosy front room need your attention if... More

Great meal and quality again for our second visit. The food was amazing and excellent service. The lady who runs it shouldn't feel so timid as she has a great place to be very proud of. To the people who say this place is nothing special, you know nothing about real food and cooking in my opinion. I do however... More

This was our third visit to The White Bear at Stretton, and each time we have had delicious meals, which are artfully served. They offer craft beers on cask, and their menu is very extensive! We are greeted warmly, and there is often a fire in the dining room fireplace. On this visit, we started by sharing the pan fried... More

We went with our very picky son, who just wanted a plain chicken breast. They said they couldn't do that, it came in the advertised sauce. If its freshly prepared, why couldnt they do a plain chicken breast. We enjoyed our meals, but nothing out of the ordinary

Where on earth do they get the term gastro pub from? There are only a handfull of so called pubs in the country and they are run by Michelin starred chefs...the white Bear is not one of them sorry! I didn't like the pretentious attitude of the staff or the customers (whom I think are attracted by the term gastro... More

This is our local go-to for a special meal. Food and service never fails to please. After a recent high five moment we decided to return here for a celebration. It was excellent. A really positive karma.

This is our favourite place to eat without the kids! Great food, lovely staff - Stowford Press cider! Fairly expensive - but well worth it!
