This is definitely one of the best restaurants in Alta and Finnmark. Lokal ingredients test have been worked magic on. Alta river outside, delicious food on the plate and something nice in the glass. Well worth the visit! 👍

I booked to stay the night, on my Birthday. We kept a room in another hotel in the area just in case. Thank God I did. This shouldn't be called a hotel. It's just a curios place (it's made of ice) but we had a bizarre incident involving the owner, so we decided to leave. The guy is one of... More

Sorrisniva served the best ever supper with local produce - reindeer, elk, seafood, fish - all cooked to perfection. We are in awe.

We travelled to the Sorrisniva expecting the highlight to be our stay in the Igloo hotel, but we were absolutely blown away by the amazing food and service at the Sorrisniva restaurant. All four of us chose different meals and each dish was equally as delightful. The waitress was polite and charming.

Our family (9 people) had a fantastic four hour snowmobile expedition with very friendly and excellent guides (Hasse and Maria). Trip over the Finnmarksvidda plateau and we also visited the edge of the Alta Canyon looking over the enormous valley and the steep mountain sides. Thanks a lot - a lifetime experience. We also got to visit a mountain lodge... More

First of all I was very pleased that the restaurant at the hotel was of such good quality as there is no other places to eat when you are staying at the Igloo hotel. I also think it is worth a visit if you are not staying at the hotel (all though the tables are first of all for the... More

The restaurant Laksestua (salmon hut) has always been well known
for its special architecture, assembling the shape of a Sami lavvo and its pleasant atmosphere.

Sorrisniva is in the middle of nature’s larder: the river, the fjord and
the plateau offer excellent raw materials for the Chef to turn into delicious dishes. The kitchen follows the food calendar, ensuring
the guest have meals appropriate to the season they are in at all

The restaurant has become one of Finnmark`s best, and our chef Johnny Trasti was rewarded «best chef of the year 2009» in Norway.

The restaurant is open for larger groups throghout the year and for a la carte from January to April.
