My experience at Howdy's could have been better. Food was decent however certain parts of the food was cold. The waitress served the drinks last which I found unusual, normally drinks are provided first. Secondly the manager guy was extremely rude. We ordered an irn bru drink, it was under the bottle section for 2.50 but it arrived in a can, now that is extortionate for a CAN! When mentioned to the manager he initially said 'it is what it is' but then took a pound off for the drink, so for a can of irn bru we were charged 1.50. We asked if we could pay separate for our individual food but he said we can't and also they do not accept card. We are currently going through a global pandemic, a safe and secure option would be to pay via card. That particular member of staff definitely needs some type of training in customer services or even to smile a little. Overall I rate 3, could have been a 4 if it wasn't for that awful manager.

A good themed restaurant that was ideal for the evening. Food was good not exceptional, good vegetables, steak was ok. Service was good. Everything was good enough but not with that extra something you expect from a place like this. Drinks were great and it was an enjoyable experience.

Good good big portions and a very nice cocktails. Would deffo return with kids as they would love the decor and theme. Only thing restaurant was a little hot, the heating must have been on higher than normal but other than that was happy I came

Very overpriced for below average food

Visited with 2 other people, all 3 of us were massively disappointed by the food. I had the gourmet buffalo chicken burger. Whilst the bun was brioche (and cold), there is nothing gourmet about the burger at all. The chicken is dry, the cheese is tasteless, and I'm genuinely confused as to whether there was actually any buffalo sauce on the burger?? This all comes to you on a wooden chopping board with steak cut chips as standard. The chips taste like the supermarket value version. An upgrade to rodeo fries for an additional £2 is laughable considering they also appear to be of a supermarket value range. We also had a second burger on the table which was equally as bad. The third main we ordered was a salad. Please don't bother. Drinks - asked for fresh orange juice. Instead, got a glass of carton orange juice that we were charged £2.50 for. Just avoid it, Bradford has 100's of places that are much much better, and lower priced. Regretted my decision to try this place for the first time over the tried and tested Frankies.

Will never come here again!

So firstly we ordered food which took over 40 minutes to come and when it came it was in dribs and drabs. Some friends were eating whilst others were still waiting. The meat sizzler was raw from inside whilst the other had a lump of god know what inside looked like a stone. We asked for plates to cook the birthday cake which again took over 20 minutes to come and they didnt give any spoons. The waitress were very rude and ignored us when we asked for spoons. Worse place i have ever been to. Will never come here again and neither will I recommend this place.

Had to wait 35 minutes for a table, but upon seating were informed this was in order to prevent overloading the kitchen with the 50% eat out to help out offer proving very popular. Only criticism I have is it would have been nice for more communication whilst we were waiting, as a few customers did leave. But we waited as we had promised the kids, and we were very glad we did. Had been meaning to visit for ages but just never managed to get round to it, but the food was amazing, the steaks and sizzlers really tender. Kids meals great value and substituted chips for noodles for my little one no problem. I was assured the cheesecakes were equally as good. The kids loved the novelty themed decorations, and the service was great, waitress was really friendly. We expected to wait a while for our food, but it was ready relatively quickly. Only thing to improve would be as said above communicating the wait time at the door. We will definitely be coming back

The food and service are outstanding. The staff are really friendly and welcoming and make you feel at home. Even though it’s really busy and at full peak you still get great tasting food in good time and service with a smile. The food is great value for money and tastes out of this world every time we’ve been I’ve tried something different and it’s always sublime They do a great range of deserts including individual cheesecakes that look and taste beautiful.

Rude and disrespectful

Ordered my child’s food to oversee that there was 2 long curly hairs in the chips. We called the manager over to see the food and he seemed to be disappointed at us rather than the food. Furthermore we had seen another hair in another meal and we were being accused that I would be our own hair. The replacement meal took long to come out everyone had finished their meals so we requested to get it packed. As well as this the meal we had a problem with was a kids meal, it stated on the menu 4.95 including a scoop of ice cream or upgrade 1.95 for a milkshake with the meal. We were charged 3.95 for the milkshake and when asked to speak to someone about the bill they were angry and pissed off at us which was very disappointing the host slammed the changed receipt on the table and over all we have never experienced this behaviour or service with howdy So we were disappointed and would now want to come there again! We do not have pictures but we would not lie about this I also seen the host itch his lower back and then was still touching food 🤮🤮🤮 Over all Bad experience

Extremely disappointed with this visit, arrived to a nearly empty restaurant to be told that the tables that we had booked and decorated earlier on in the day were not free even though we could clearly see they were. When we placed our food order there were missing pages from the menus, and nowhere near enough cutlery on the tables for even half of us. Food arrived for the kids first then it was a long 30 minutes before the last adult meal arrived, by then most of the people were finished. 5-10 minutes after the last adult meal was brought out we were asked “I know this is awkward, but how long before you are finished, we have people waiting”. The kids had to eat their ice cream standing up as the staff were lingering eager to usher everyone out. The food was just mediocre, I had the peri peri chicken, the chips were half warm and some even cold, the grilled halloumi was like eating a mouth full of salt. Toilets were absolutely filthy and my son refused to use the mens as flys kept landing on his legs and they were full of cobwebs! When the bill arrived there were things on there that we didn’t even order, also don’t forget it’s cash only! Upon trying to exit the restaurant through the side fire door with the wheel chair, (the same way they let us in), we were faced with a car parked directly outside it! If there had been a fire, there would have been absolutely no chance of people exiting safely. Huge health and safety risk! Overall I would not recommend, and will not be returning.

This is the second time going to howdys and I can hands down say this is the best place to go!! Absolutely lovely staff. The waitresses and waiters were extremely polite and made sure we were okay. Young lady on the bar was very kind and professional not to mention the manager who greeted us and looked after us throughout the visit.The food was absolutely impeccable lovely chicken steak would 100% recommend. Will definitely visit again!!!!

Wouldn’t feed my dog here

Visited here not long ago with my partner and 2 year old son food was flat cold had to be remade, visited again today hoping for a better service, brought drinks out well after food, got part of my sons order wrong so took his whole plate away to replace one item leaving a toddler shouting for his dinner. Brought him a bowl of mash with a long brown hair in then tried to say the hair was mine (I’m blonde) the ‘manager’ had a bad attitude from the off getting orders wrong, not bringing drinks and then challenging when we complained even following us outside arguing when we left. Would never eat here again shocking service, rude staff and poor food.

Extreamly Poor Service

We, a family of four, went to celebrate our daughter's 6th birthday and it became the most horrible experience in a restaurant we could imagine. It started from the menu, for steaks, the price in the restaurant is at least 50% higher than on the website. Then comes the time to order and the person, after taking the order, they came three times to check what we have ordered. Even then it came wrong, we called the waiter and asked what we have ordered, he could not tell us what was it. All four of us got the food with a difference of 5 minutes each. After finishing the food, we called three different waiters to collect dishes, but they were busy talking with girls on staff. I went to check on the counter and there were three staff members doing nothing. Finally, we decided to clean the table ourselves and arranged the empty dishes in one corner. One guy came to collect the dishes but did not come back to get empty bottles. We called another guy, who collected three bottles and left tissues, crums, and one empty bottle of fruitshoot. We then have to request three times to bring our cake for the celebration, but after waiting for more than 20 minutes it did not come. Finally, we decided to take the cake home. I went to the counter and asked for the manager. He was away but I was able to get his contact number, when I called him and explained the problems, he seemed busy with something else and did not bother to give a good response. We paid the bill and came home with cake. At home, when I had a look at the receipt then I realized that we never got the ice cream for which we have been charged.

Never again!!

This was the worst place I have ever been. After reading the reviews I thought this place sounds great, but no! Are these people all friends and family that write these reviews!! We were taken to our table by a waitress, she just chucked the menus down and walked away, started talking to the 2 waiters standing at the end. Nice waiter came over, lowered his mask to speak, and took our order. I ordered ribs, but they were off the menu, so had a T-bone, no mushroom sauce left so had the house sauce. The food came with a bag of frozen veg and a few slices of lettuce and a slice of cucumber, very random, the sauce was nearly cold and tasted awful. This was not a nice welcoming place as reviewed, it was terrible. Not much Covid control to be seen, menus were filthy and torn, not disposable. Avoid!

Tasty Chicken Steak and Sauce

Everything is clean and in line with social distancing. Welcoming staff and the Manager was very attentive and made sure we were happy with the food which leads on very nicely to how AMAZING the chicken sizzler was! Very clean chicken no veins or fatty bits (I am very particular with my cut of chicken). The mushroom sauce is to die for and the noodles were tasty aswell. Spacious restaurant for all types including so much room for families and prams. Deffos recommend this place to all.

The food is generally good and so is the service, however it really winds me up when a busy restaurant is cash only. They aren’t exactly cheap either, our average bill is around £90 on some occasions it’s been £150+. Cash only can mean one thing only, they’re avoiding paying VAT, this is also confirmed by the fact they aren’t able to provide VAT invoices for purchase. This really winds me up as the rest of us are paying our way as we should, however restaurants like these are scamming the system, it’s not fair or moral.
