Met family here for a lunchtime dinner, the food, ambience and service are all excellent, can't fault. I had the haddock with leek & potato veloute and poached egg as starter, really nice portion size, although they could have kept it coming, so moreish! Steak...frite for main and the steak was perfectly cooked with tasty fries and a decent peppercorn sauce, although I prefer it a bit more peppery.More

My husband and I have dined a Smith’s over the years since it opened. We don’t visit often as we like to try lots of different restaurants and cuisines. However Smiths never disappoints. Last night the food was wonderful again. I had the smoked haddock...veloute blade of beef and crème brûlée. It was all fantastic. The staff are really attentive and a great relaxed atmosphere. Can’t wait to go back!More

This was our first visit to Smiths and we will be back. We had the 3 course midweek meal for £25pp. Good value indeed. The chicken and duck pate was the finest I’ve eaten, and the chicken with chorizo was just delicious. The sea bream...was fabulous, melt in the mouth and perfectly cooked. My partner had the goats cheese salad which was delicious. The portion size of the salad could have been a little larger in our opinion, but it wasn’t a problem. The only slight criticism we had was the red wine that we bought. It was a £22 Montepulciano. It was quite thin with very little flavour. We let it breathe for a while, but it didn’t seem to improve. It was a screw top bottle called ‘Conviviale’, I think we might order the Malbec next time.More

We visited Smith’s Restaurant on Saturday for a late lunch. It has always been a favourite place to go of ours. Firstly, we would normally be greeted with an aperitif before placing our order which was always a nice touch. Not on this occasion. Secondly,...we noticed a 25% increase in price. Thirdly, I ordered the soup which was delicious followed by fish, which was also delicious but looked like a child’s portion. My wife had the salmon as a starter which she enjoyed followed by the chicken that included black pudding, or should I say half a black pudding. We didn’t stay for a desert. Standards are slipping and could obviously been see in the empty tables that would normally be full on a Saturday. Please ‘up your game Smiths’, your reputation is slipping in my opinion.More

Enjoyed everything about our visit. The restaurant has a very welcoming feel and a friendly face also welcomed us on entry. The food from a very reasonably priced set menu was absolutely stunning. I had the Soup and my partner had the patty for starter....Followed by the flank of beef and the chicken. We genuinely couldn’t fault a thing and can’t wait to visit again. Maybe a bit late to the party with this one but glad to have found this little Lanarkshire gemMore

We visited this restaurant to celebrate my husband’s PhD completion. I chose it after reading all the lovely reviews on this app. I have to say it did not disappoint and surpassed our expectations! When we arrived we were presented with a personalised menu that...showed care and attention to detail. The food was delicious with generous portions! We will definitely return and will recommend to friends and family! Thank you so much for having us!More

We had booked for four but unfortunately one of our group couldn't make it , our booking was for for the 18th Dec 2021, sadly there had been a few cancellations due to Nicola Sturgeon scare mongering and people were scared to go to restsurants...and pubs , We arrived and it was a little quiet but soon filled up and was nice to see that it creates a warm friendly atmosphere as the staff feed of the buzz of the crowd in the restsurant , the service was amazing our waitress was very attentive first taking our drinks order then taking our order , I ordered the pate' to start followed by the fish dish then to finish the sticky toffee pudding was to die for it was so light and tasty, both of my friends enjoyed there choices as well , could not fault anything in this little Gem of a restaurant the staff really care about the customers and was a lovely relaxed afternoon thankyou to all the staff at Smiths who made it such a lovely day .More

Smiths is one of our favourite restaurants for treating ourselves due to the fact that neither the food or service will ever be a let down. However today the chefs excelled more than ever. The pork belly and black pudding pudding starter was second to...none and my husbands parsnip soup with curry croutons letting you wanting more it was devine. The main course of herb crusted cod cooked to perfection with crushed potatoes and tomato based sauce can only be described as off-the-scale delicious then finished with the best sticky toffee pudding in the land. Everything cooked from scratch not a brake brothers product in sight. Hats off to the the wonderful chef's and waiting staff.More

Have had the pleasure of dining in Smiths a few times and it’s always wonderful. First time having lunch from the Christmas menu and it was fab. We had the pork belly and the salmon for starters and the cod loin and blade of beef...for main. It was beautifully presented and tasted delicious. Such a lovely lunch in cosy atmosphere. Staff were friendly and attentive. Will be back soon.More

On reaching my "biblical " birthday (thank goodness!), I wanted to have a memorable meal with the people I love most. Looking at the choices around me, it was a little depressing, all I wanted was really good food, comforting customer service, something quietly excellent.....Smiths...at Uddingston met my requirements absolutely. The menu gave us lovely decisions, my scallops were perfect, the crisply deep fried cauliflower sprig just finished it delightfully. If I say that 4 out of the 6 of us chose the amazingly tender skirt beef....and we all raved about it, you'll get the picture of how this chef knows how to deliver mouthwatering food. To finish, the chocolate delice was absolutely perfect! Staff were friendly, really made our experience, couldn't have been better. Yes, we will be back. Such a lovely experience, especially in the current situation, thank you so much!More
