I expect a meal at a 2 Michelin starred restaurant to be in my top 5 meals ever. Mugaritz may have been in my least favorite 5... While the foods were undeniably "creative" they lacked overall flavor or were downright disgusting (except for the fried chicken skin - that was the one good biteI remember having). Taste does not have... More

I visited a few months back, but was hesitant posting a review as I was convinced I must have visited on an off night. However, reading recent reviews, it is clear many others have had a similarly disastrous experience. What was so bad? Well, the food wasn't great. But if I go to a experimental cuisine restaurant, I will happily... More

We came with great expectations and my husband wanted to walk out after 5 courses out of 23. It is disgraceful what they serve. They served something that looked like a piece of turd and a tendon melted on a scallop that has the most disgusting texture its like caramel stuck and glued your mouth and leaving it with a... We had such high hopes, based on the San Pellegrino list and Mugartiz's two Michelin stars. The food was beautiful, but the majority of the dishes simply did not taste good. Many lacked a key component to marry otherwise beautiful and innovatively plated dishes. The focus seemed to be more on texture and originality at the expense of balanced flavours... More

It was a while back when I was here, I meant to write the review sooner! This restaurant is more like a 3 star Michelin restaurant than a two star. In fact I ate at a 2 star a few months after this, and it wasn't half as good. The service here is fantastic, the location is stunning, set in... More

Mugaritz is famous being World Best 50 Restaurant, the setting of the restaurant is located a peaceful small town of Errenteria. The food is experimental, you either like it or not. It is recommended only if you are willing to let your taste bud be challenged.

We booked Mugaritz months before when planning our trip to Portugal & Spain. We were a party of 3... my husband, myself & our son who is a chef. We loved the casual atmosphere, although the service was attentive, food sublime and cooked in very new, experimental ( but good ) ways. Atmosphere was like we were guests at a... More

It’s an experience since you book the table until the end of the meal. Also the visit to the kitchen is an experience and surprise itself for how organized it s. Wines: gigantic list, almost impossible to choose. Looked for a wine pairing menu and it didn’t see it. Asked for it and it exists. Don’t know why it’s not... More

We went to the restaurant as a party of twenty, so the atmosphere was brilliant, the staff were very attentive and understanding of the slightly raucous behaviour. The food of San Sebastian is pretty stand out anyway, but this was next level, the whole experience was special with great attention to detail, such as a food related game after dinner... More

My husband booked Mugaritz many months in advance to enjoy my 40th birthday. We travelled from Sydney to San Sebastián for the pleasure. Our children, 10 & 7yrs joined us. I will say it was an amazing experience. We went for lunch. There were multiple courses and mostly we enjoyed discovering each one. Sometimes the presentation was confusing, sometimes the... More
