We hired a car for the day and drove around the island and were told to stop off here. So glad we did. The food was fresh and great tasting. We had coconut shrimp and fish. Yum Definitely make a stop here well worth it

I Highly recommend the garlic shrimp. So delicious. You do have to remove the heads. So much fresh garlic you will not have any trouble with vampires. I also had the orange creamsicle ice cream float. YUM!!!
This is exactly what you would expect- a big plate of delicious shrimp. The person working it was SO friendly! The shrimp was great- we had garlic shrimp and coconut shrimp. I think the coconut shrimp is way better. The garlic shrimp is good for sure but not as unique as the coconut.
Great food - but not particularly cheap. We had portions of the spicy garlic and coconut shrimp and both were tasty, fresh and generous portions, although the spicy shrimp wasn't very spicy at all. Service was prompt and friendly. There are some benches to sit at outside the store but not the greatest atmosphere (literally) because of the fumes from... More
Not sure why the ratings on this establishment are so high. Or the high marks given by the Travel Channel. I was not impressed. Wife and I ordered the fried fish strips. Meal came with 2 pieces of fish on bed of rice. Our first order came out and as I began to eat I noticed that the inner part... More
We hired a car for the day and headed to the North Shore. On the way we stumbled across the Shrimp Shack. At first we were only going to grab a drink but after meeting the friendly team we jumped on in an ordered a variety of their shrimp dishes. WOW... it was unbelievable. Yum Yum.
Stopped here before going to Kualoa Ranch for a tour. Didn't want to drive all the way up to Kahuku for Giovanni's or Romy's. There was no wait on a weekday around lunchtime, which was perfect. The garlic shrimp was fresh and tasty with the peel on...I tend to eat the peel along with the shrimp so it doesn't bother... More

Aloha from the owner of the Shrimp Shack! I'm sorry that you think we only serve deep fried food and rice. If you would have looked at all the pictures on our extensive menu board you would have noticed that deep fried food is not what we specialize in preparing.
What the Shrimp Shack is known for and why we were featured on the Food Network twice is fresh local sautéed, grilled and steamed seafood. We have pan sautéed garlic shrimp, pan sautéed spicy garlic shrimp, fresh grilled mahi in Molokai sauce with carmelized onions, steamed pacific clams, steamed and poached mussels, whole snow crab, grilled 8oz. New York Steak etc. The deep fried food is not the major draw of the Shrimp Shack. Our draw is fresh local cooked to order shrimp and fish. I hope you will dine again at the Shrimp Shack and this time order the special items that have kept us in business on the side of the road for 17 years.
