One of the fish did not look or taste right so put it back. Toilet was not particularly clean and door wouldn't lock. Service was ok but slow at times. View makes up for it but it's the basics that need to be done right. Almost standard practice to make a concession for returned food but wasn't offered.

We have just returned from a lovely meal at the Quayside. It is set in the quaint harbour of Gourdon and is very picturesque. The restaurant itself is very simply, but tastefully decorated as the view is the best backdrop. My husband and I both had crab/fish cakes which were served with chips. As they are fried traditionally in beef... More

Nice airy restaurant with great view of the harbour. My partner had battered haddock. I tried the smoked haddock in batter. Both were absolutely superb. The smoked haddock was a pleasant surprise as I was a bit wary of being covered in batter. My partner couldn't finish hers, so I was happy to help out. The fish is so fresh... More

I guess if you turn up at a busy time or without booking for the restaurant you might have to wait for a very good reason...the food is great! We turned up for an early evening meal before a walk along the coastal path and had some amazing freshly cooked food (and no wait as very quiet at 4.30pm). Everyone... More

We turned up at 7.50pm last Sunday evening, tired and hungry after a lovely coastal walk from Inverbervie to Johnshaven (and back, for one of us, anyway!). The restaurant was due to shut at 8pm and we were told, very politely, that the fryers downstairs had run out of fish! Our crestfallen faces and request for food of any sort... More

As a special treat I was taken to the Quayside Restaurant in Gourdon. Granted it was a sunny day which was great as the restaurant has panoramic views of the harbour & Sea. The service was friendly and attentive, even after our little one spilled a drink. The food was good quality and the cheesecake with tablet sauce delicious. The... More

We dropped into this place for Sunday lunch on the off chance and without pre-booking. We received a warm and friendly welcome and were treated to a lovely lunch overlooking Gourdon Harbour and the North Sea, which was very tranquil at the time. The food was outstanding and the atmosphere was lovely. We shall certainly return to this little diamond.
