I went to Ashtari for the first time in 2010. At that time, Kuta was under developed and Ashtari was the only building that people could see from down the valley. Some old fellows call Ashtari, the first landmark of Kuta. I went to Ashtari...almost every year to have super-vegan meal. However, in 2013, this restaurant decided to expand its market, leaving its vegan brand and be restaurant for everyone (omnivore + vegetarian). This was a very good news for my carnivore sister and friends but I was pretty upset!
Now Ashtari serves international and local cuisines. The diverse menu accommodates all visitors' taste. Visitors can have stirring water spinach and languini at the same time. Do not come during the holiday, it is always full!! Weekdays are the best time to enjoy Ashtari. Besides coming for food, many comes to Ashtari for yoga class. This free yoga class is led by some great yogi and yogini that will help you to build up the flexibility of your body.
Other than all foodie that you can try and the free yoga class, what makes Ashtari even more special is its location. Ashtari stands firmly on the top of a hill, facing divine view of the south coast. The white coastal curves are spaced by many hills create a patternless line. The view stretches from Kuta Beach, to Gerupuk, Bumbang till the beach around Gunung Tunaq which is the furthest view that visitors can reach with their eyes.More
