I can recommend the pies here, both the fish pie and the pie of the day too. The staff were friendly and the pies were freshly cooked. I enjoyed a glass of sauvignon blanc too.

Went down on a Thursday evening. We were welcomed by all the staff very warmly. The beer was great, the food delicious and we had a really lovely evening. A better pub would be hard to find! Mick, the owner, even drove us back to our campsite - amazing!

Great landlord, very warm welcome, excellent food. Fish pie home made, lamb perfectly cooked and fresh sea bass. Wide range of local beers and a good quiz at the end of evening. A perfect country pub !

We had a tiring walk at a nearby reservoir and we went to war and we ordered a couple of starters and mains the starters were brilliant but it took a long time to get the mains but overall the mains were ok

Visited here with my family, Mick the landlord was a perfect host, nothing to much trouble, great homemade pies and the Gammon steak was so good ;-) the selection of real ales was second to non, even allowed us to sample some of them, well worth a visiting, and will be back for sure ;-)

Been here many times and again today. You can't fault the staff the food or the beer. The landlord and landlady certainly know how to look after customers, the food is always plentiful hot and good and there's usually at least 4 real ales available plus a locally brewed lager. Well worth a visit!

This pub continues to maintain its high standards. You are always made welcome, the food is home cooked and delicious and the beers are varied and interesting. Being both child and dog friendly it's popular with locals and visitors alike. If you want to eat here it's best to book. We will be back!

What a superb find. Excellent straightforward food, wide selection of cask beers and very friendly staff and management. Add in the location and the fact that the place is dog friendly and you've got the quintessential English pub.
