We were on a cultural tour of Bhutan and happened upon Cafe' Perk. The coffee was amazing, the sweet treats over the top and a good selection of vegetarian lunch options. The ambiance was lovely. We chatted with local monks, people watched, and simply enjoyed the slower pace of central Bhutan.

Excellent coffee stop with view of high street. Great choice of tea / coffee and super food choices (western if you are looking for a bit of home comfort and tired of the set tourist menu served elsewhere - our guide ordered Bhutanese too though If preferred) . Comfy sofas to relax in too. Highly recommended.

If you are craving some western delights in Bumthang, this is the spot to visit. Lovely coffees are served with a great view of Bumthang’s main street along with great cakes such as brownies and a very tasty lemon cake. Western food such as spaghetti and sandwiches also feature on the menu and the wifi connection is fast and reliable.

Cafe Perk was recommended to us by a local friend and was a pleasant surprise. We enjoyed the fresh food and coffee here. The spaghetti, ham pizza, grilled sandwich, beef fried rice, hazelnut latte (1 pump) were delicious. The pizza is better than anything you can find in Thimphu. We came here every day during our stay. It seems like a a nice family run place - cozy, comfortable, and clean.

We fell upon this place after a 2 week straight diet of rice noodles and mixed vegetables!
Really friendly owners and the pizzas are good
They have a coffee machine !!!!!!!!!!!
Lovely setting with some English books and magazines
Only criticism was that the wait was rather long
Going back today !

We had a wonderful lunch of Bhutanese food at this cafe that serves local and continental dishes. I heard that their continental food were very good too. The hostess/owner was very gracious and service was prompt. Quality of food is hard to beat for a small town in the Bumthang valley.
We loved the ambience too as we were late to lunch and had the whole place to ourselves and our guide. Very cosy and quiet.
If you are in Jakar, we wholly recommend you give this cafe a try. I don't think you will be disappointed.

When you tire of rice, noodles and vegetables this is the place to go in Jakar Bumthang. The food was delicious and plentiful. We had spaghetti bolognese and fries, the bolognese ,was very tasty. We also had strawberry milkshake and iced coffee. They also make excellent real coffee, not instant. The staff were lovely and friendly and the atmosphere was very relaxed and cosy. We are making a return visit tomorrow before we leave the area. The cost of a meal for two was well under ten pounds. Prices are shown on the menu boards and all selections seemed very good value.

Great food.
We tried all of the following and loved every bit of it:
Delight Pizza -- cheesy, vegetarian pizza. It must be the fresh Bumthang cheese but this cheese filled pizza is truly worth trying out. Beware, it is a huge pizza and it is a whole meal for 2.
Spaghetti marinara -- We loved it but it is on the slightly sweeter side. Not the usual marinara sauce. But the spaghetti is tasty and you will not regret it.
If your idea of a nice day in a beautiful valley is to lounge and read/write, this is the place for you. The cappuccino is great. I liked the hot chocolate but I have had better. It is such a great place that we dedicated an entire afternoon just to sit here and write.
The only disappointment was that they did not have koka, momos and such on the menu. But that brings me to my last and most important point. The staff is lovely! It is run by a family, in fact by the women of the family. And they are just the loveliest people. They made stuff for us that were not in the menu.
Overall, perfect place for lounging late afternoon.

just came for coffee, not food. Cosy ambiance and good coffee made with real Italian style machines. It is not cheap, even for expensive Bhutan, but it's worth it if you are suffering from coffee withdrawal symptoms after all that tea... Friendly staff.

We live in Bhutan, so we were happy to stray from our regular Bhutanese food to have some western food. Delicious veggie pasta and pizza was served with milkshakes made on fresh fruit. Good coffee was also delivered.
Wifi was available and it was a great to look out the window of this second floor cafe to the Main Street of Bhutan. It is a good space with both comfortable lounge chairs and tables & chairs to choose from. I would always prefer a cafe / restaurant not to have a TV on, so it was a shame that there was a TV on.
We had tried to come the day before but the cafe was closed, apparently that just didn't want to open that day. So it might be a hit and miss place.

In the midst of the mountains the cafe is a cute place that gives one little connectivity back to our city lives. Cafe has selective menu but extremely good and quirky one - very nice cafe latte and masala tea. It had great sandwiches and pasta/ spaghetti!
The decor is also very lively.

I and my friends visited cafe perk for coffee and dessert after lunch. I had a brownie with ice cream. The brownie was fresh and the taste was good. Probably a little over priced for this region but overall it's a cool place to hangout.
