A group of 15 ladies came for an evening meal. We were all impressed with the food and the service. Generous portions and well cooked.

We visited here Friday night and considering it has four stars on TripAdvisor it was a big let down, the missis had lasagna and said it was dry and taste like it had been microwaved I had chicken tikka and although said it was homemade again tasted like a microwave meal too. Inside the eating area of the pub there... More

It had been some time ago, and I had forgotten about the food, so unfortunately booked again. The food is really substandard, this time I had trout in almonds, it was a lovely piece of fish, with almonds and nothing else, and the usual veg they bought out was really uninspired. Pudding was a disaster supposed to be an apple... More

Went there to meet some friends for lunch, pre-booked a table, was offered a table in the restaurant section however offered a table in the bar area if we wanted too, we decided on staying the in bar area as not too busy. It was cold in there, we asked for the log burner to be lit however were told... More

Had an excellent Boxing Day lunch here with the family. We were impressed that all meals arrived at the table together, a great achievement as there were 8 of us, all ordering different dishes. Food was hot and fresh. Big portions, loads of veggies. Only one downside..the steak pie..we asked if it was puff pastry or short pastry. We were... More

Lovely welcome, big roaring fire in a typical old pub with a fantastic atmosphere....by 1.00 pm it was packed. There is the usual pub menu plus a specials board......so a very comprehensive choice. However, the wait for it to be cooked was considerable, which in one way was good, because if meant cooked to order..... The portions were enormous, so... More

Popped in here for a quick pub lunch, haven't been in ages and it's a beautiful thatch roofed pub. The bar lady recommended the salmon and chilli fish cakes and they were very good. Nice atmosphere, slightly older clientele but nice to see it busy.
