We went to the Foxham for our Anniversary on Saturday evening , which turned out to be a total disaster with the food .Firstly asked for a Bells Whisky with a dash of lemonade and got a Baileys. Then had fish and chips witch were stone...cold peas, which was taken back of my plate to be warmed. For desert had Eton Mess which was a joke . I had two blackberries and two raspberries and two frozen strawberries and tea spoon of cream and half of broken shop meringue , which was served on a tea plate. I specifically asked were they homemade meringues before I ordered. Which I was told yes homemade. We will not be returning especially after the poor hospitality and food!!!we went to a local pub yesterday and had a lovely Eton Mess which is the correct presentation. Photo of yesterday Eton Mesh which was delicious.More

Stone cold mushy peas with fish and chips and the Eton mess dessert was off the scale for bad value for money. About half at most of shop bought small meringue nest about a teaspoon of cream and some frozen ( apparently too close to...the back of the fridge was the explanation) fruit . All served on a PLATE! One of our group had a small scoop of icecream With their Minuscule Eton mess and the cost of the dessert was £9.50. We were offered a replacement for the frozen fruit but declined as the shop bought meringue was unpleasant. No discount offered do we won’t we going back .More

I took my parents last week for dinner, as I had heard it’s under new management. My meal & my mothers was dreadful. I had the fish of the day, which was salmon. It was served with a few fried small potatoes with about 6...beans with a piece of salmon, the whole meal was swimming in oil. Not once did the staff come ask me if the meal was okay, only once they came to get the plates. I said my meal was dreadful as swimming in oil, I was not offered a discount off the meal either, staff could see I had taken my food off the plate & placed on serviettes to drain off the meal. My mums fish was not nice either, she felt it was not fresh fish only a boxed piece of fish. We will not be returning for another meal!!!More

We were previously irregular visitors to eat at the Foxham over the last few years and always enjoyed our visits. However, the guys who have recently taken the pub have done a great job, and made this our regular place to eat out locally. Sunday...lunch this weekend was great! We brought some friends along and they enjoyed themselves as much as us - its now on the revisit list. This time, I was in for the roast beef - and it was done to a turn, nicely pink which is exactly how I like it. Great selection of delicious veg and plenty of gravy. The guys have a really nice selection of of well kept beers and ciders on. Ramsbury Gold from Marlborough is a really super summer ale and worth trying. As well as Thatchers Gold - which is my default Cider - the guys have both Peroni on tap, and one of my other favourites Asahi - which was a very welcome. The pubs great - the team are thoughtful and friendly. A lot of pubs and restaurants have had to up the game over the last 12-18 months - and the team at the Foxham have got it dead right - from the word go a month and a half since taking on. Great stuff and we'll be seeing you soon.More

After hearing positive comments about the Foxham we were disappointed when our steaks arrived and we had to ask for better knives!! When the waitress cleared our plates each with a portion of gristle we were asked how was our meal, our reply was ‘ordinary”....Another waitress appeared and questioned our opinion as no one else had complained. Obviously honest answers are not welcome and their attitude became very unfriendly.More

Service was good until feedback on the steak was received. The response we had was highly unprofessional and questioned our opinion, and we were very disappointed with the response more so than the poor steak! Criticism needs to be taken and worked on, not being...rude and defensive to the customer. This is our second visit since the foxham opened, the first time we were highly delighted with the food, unfortunately service and food tonight wasn’t the same.More

This was our second visit, having a light lunch. We decided to order a few dishes to share, the owner seemed a little stressed and not overly impressed with us sharing, even though we ordered a decent bottle of wine. My parents shared a ploughman's...for 14£, which was small for the price, two tiny pieces of cheeses and a few slices of packet ham ( please correct if wrong) for the price we exspected more. Then I ordered a childs ice cream, tiny portion about half a scoop, for 3£. When this was questioned to the owner, she was dismissive and said we probably could of given more. Not really good enough experience for the price. Rest of the staff lovely and friendly. Shame as this could of become a good local place to visit.More

Looking for a pub supper somewhere between Chippenham and Wootton Basset we came across the Foxham after trying 2 or 3 other places that were fully booked. Glad they were because this place was terrific: new owners, comfortable setting, relaxed ambience, decent beers - and...most important of all, really excellent food. Hard to fault . We'll definitely be going back!More
