Food is better than you would expect in a pub and the staff are extremely friendly. Atmosphere is warm and cosy.

We came into the pub cold, wet from the weather, and hungry. We were luckily enough to be seated near the fireplace to warm up while our meal was prepared. We enjoyed a very nice meal and the beauty of the room where we were dining. I dare say this was the best meal we had on our 12 day... More

We ate here while staying at the Powerscourt hotel. Food was delicious and service was great! The staff at Powerscourt drove us down and then the restaurant called for them to pick us up. It was very easy and worked out well.

We rode our bikes down to the village from the hotel, and had a nice lunch at Macs . It's the best pub in town. Tiny. Lots of locals. No expensive, and they didn't mind our sharing and entrée.

Had tea here tonight (staying at Powerscourt). The meals were excellent. Attentive service, food came fairly promptly, atmosphere pleasant. Both meals were freshly prepared, servings were generous and food was incredibly tasty. Excellent value too. Would thoroughly recommend this place.

Had a lovely evening had a few drinks, then starter which was very substantial, went for walk around and shared the beef and Guinness stew between us as on our return as we can't eat that much any more, and this was no problem. Very friendly and accommodating staff and good food. Really enjoyed.

My family and I had dinner here at the bar, the food was great and the staff and service was even better. They even dropped us all back to our hotel when we couldn't call them. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts. LOVE the Aussies. Xxxxoooo

Booked a team dinner for 20 with the request to watch the Euro's and also the U20 rugby game. Food was excellent, staff and locals were very friendly and helpful. Made sure we could get views of each game and kept the screens on mute so wouldn't interfere with the dining experience. Definitely be back.

We ate in the restaurant adjacent to Mac's Bar, I think it is called the Powerscourt Arms. There were four of us and we all enjoyed our meals. The fish and chips is highly recommended. Menu is very Irish, with lots of "comfort" food. We'd definitely go back. Service, though a little slow, was very friendly.

This is an interesting pub frequented by both locals and tourists. We enjoyed the food (chicken in a creamy mushroom sauce and the sirloin steak special) and busy ambiance. Service was very friendly. Special thanks to Shay, who ferried us back to our hotel in the rain.
