Looking for a pub with traditional Irish music we were happy to end up in The Roadside tavern. The next day, during our walk through the fields we met the boss who showed us the best way to Ballyvaughan.

Fantastic local tavern in Lisdoonvarna. I did not want to leave this place after stumbling upon it on my travels. The staff were friendly, the food and the craic was good. Highly recommend a visit to sample traditional Irish hospitality.

Stopped after checking recommendations on Trip Advisor. Everyone is right. Before we could even get a drink we were regaled by a tell from a local. I finally had to tell him to please wrap up his tale because I was perishing for want of...More

There’s not a lot of choice in Lisdoonvarna but the Roadside Tavern was exactly what we were looking for. The pub brews it’s own Burren ales and they’re good. I had the smoked salmon tagliatelle which was very good with the salmon coming from the...More

The hotel we stayed at recommended this restaurant. The food was good and the pricing average. We went back later to have a drink and my husband enjoyed one of the beers made onsite called the "Red Beer". There drink selections are limited to beer,...More

I had read about this place partly because it has a microbrewery as well as the tavern. My husband always enjoys trying new brews. We both had the “Red” and it was good. More bitter than a typical amber or red ale but still really...More

Iconic pub that generally lives up to it’s reputation. Decent food and limited range of good craft beers. Check n advance re music sessions as these are not on every night. Smoked salmon from Smokehouse was excellent.

We had dinner there and enjoyed the food, especially the salmon is quite great and very well done. The also offer local beer which is very nice. The portions are quite large so you have to be careful with ordering. The staff is very friendly...More

This was recommended to us by the owners of the B&B we stayed at and it was worth it. Drinks were a little pricier than we’d paid in other areas but the staff & atmosphere made it well worth it. The restaurant staff were very...More

Sorry I cannot answer the question. I dined only in the establishment, and did not know that it was residential.

Description
The pub is open all year round from 10am until late. Food is served by Kieran's Kitchen from March until beginning of November. Last orders at 8.45pm. In spring 2011, Peter Curtin embarked on a new endeavour: He set up the Burren Brewery in the Roadside Tavern in Lisdoonvarna. The building, which in 1865 started off as a pub, then was expanded into a bakery, now also harbours a micro-brewery under its roof. His Burren Gold (lager), Burren Red (ale) and Burren Black (stout) are one of only three micro-breweries mentioned in the Lonely Planet Global Craft Beer Guide! At the same time it is a restaurant - Kieran's Kitchen - serving the best food from locally sourced ingredients. It is also a renowned music venue for traditional music with musicians gathering here every night during the summer months.
