Long live the EU! German guests in an Irish restaurant that cooperates with a famous vintner from Alsace/France. This classic restaurant is easy to reach from Dublin (Bus 31) and it is worthwhile going there. Although specialized in fish and seafood they also serve excellent lambdishes. The wine from Alsace is fine and moderately priced for Irish standards.

Ate dinner but was a little ordinary on the fish front and atmosphere come to that. Would have loved some crab.

A great seafood restaurant to visit before or after a long walk around the Ben of Howth. It does not accept reservations due to its standing and well-deserved pouplairty. All seafood dishes are locally caught and served to high quality lunch standards complete with brown bread which is a delight to savour with your favourite pint. Worth the wait and... More

Visited again after a too long absence. We were a large group. Service was excellent with great attention to detail in many areas. Oysters for pre-starter and scallops for starter were excellent. Fish dishes, especially monkfish, were excellent. However the pan fried sole was cooked in too much butter - it masked the fish taste. Wine list was really good.... More

We had dinner in the restaurant, stayed the night and had breakfast next morning. Lovely spot for a night away - room very comfortable, lovely decor and great shower. The view and sound of the sea added to the charm. Joan was a fantastic host, very relaxed and friendly. Both dinner and breakfast were delicious.

We had lunch at this beautiful restaurant. All of the tables had views of the sea. The service was fantastic-they recommended great wines and fish. The food was delicious and the people who worked there were so helpful and friendly. One of the highlights of our trip to Dublin.

We stayed here as a group of 12 for a week. Consequently, within the group, we took various meals here: breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Each meal was delicious, thoughtfully prepared, and fresh. The soups are excellent! The grilled fish amazing! The burgers as good as any you've tried! And the chips are well-made, as well. Joan and Angus run a... More

Had a very nice 2 night stay here recently. Location of the hotel is great - overlooking the sea and pier. Room was good, but would benefit from a little updating/upgrading, just to make you think wow, as opposed to nice! Service was excellent though - very welcoming and helpful, friendly and efficient. Breakfast was lovely with great choice of... More

Established in 1971, Aidan and Joan MacManus have earned an international reputation for fresh seafood in their harbour-side restaurant in the picturesque fishing village of Howth. In 1999, they extensively rebuilt their old Harbour Master's house, relocating the restaurant to the first floor with panoramic seaviews, and adding eight guest bedrooms. All the bedrooms are named after Lighthouses and have sea-views. Fresh fish landed daily on Howth Pier, oysters and mussels from the west, lobster caught by our own fishermen in Balscadden Bay are among our specialities. Enjoy a pre-dinner drink in our East Cafe Bar while choosing your wine from our outstanding Wine List. National Hospitality Awards Seafood Restaurant of the year 2014. We are situated in the golfing heartland of North County Dublin and for sailors Howth Marina is three minutes walk. Enjoy a gentle stroll on the Pier before breakfast or a more energetic hike on the unspoilt Cliff Path and the trails of Howth Head. For business, shopping or sightseeing, Dublin City is only 25 minutes by Dart. Dublin Airport 25 minutes.
