Tucked away in the port of Howth, just outside Dublin, is this wonderful little restaurant serving amazing fresh food. On the menu is an allegedly award winning Seafood Chowder. To claim something is that special means I had to try it. (I say award winning,...More

We've been here a fair few times now, for lunch, early monkey and dinner. We were here again last night, and as the title says, it's always tops. Unfortunately there was no broccoli and blue cheese soup left, so I had the chowder. My wife...More

The Brass Monkey really gave me the feel of being at home, the service was truly great. Very good fish and chips, but it was soup of the day that really stole the show for me. Warm recommendation.

Difficult to distinguish between the seafood restaurants on the quay so it was just chance that took us into this one. Lucky chance though! The menu said award-winning chowder so two of us opted for that. Wow! Really great. Staff friendly and attentive. Decor not...More

You can taste fish dishes such as salmon burger (delicious) or fish and chips, or fish soup. Good service and medium prices.

We went into get fish and chips which was lovely. Pleanty of seafood on the menu obviously. Nice quaint surrondings. Hard to distingush it from the many others along the pier there. But you won't go wrong by going in!

This isn't my favourite of the half dozen or so restaurants on the pier with remarkably similar menus but it has always done the best chowder in the universe - everything else is kind of meh. Staff are nice though.

While my wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Dublin we also enjoyed going "local" by jumping on the greater metro Dart Train to Howth (about 30 minutes distant from city center?) Apparently this small shore community is the Sunday afternoon of many Dubliners...More

I hadn't been to this restaurant for a while and really enjoyed my return visit. It is very popular so you need to book especially for the Early Bird which is the menu we ate from. Had the beetroot and goats cheese starter which was...More

Lovely friendly restaurant on the west pier in Howth, just around the corner from the dart station. We had the scallops to start which was fab and the fish and chips for mains. The fish was lovely and fresh with the batter just perfect. There...More
