We stayed a night in An Sugan. We arrived late and had to go to bar to collect keys. We were met by a very friendly man who showed us to our room, which was lovely and comfortable. We got a great night sleep. In the morning, we had a really lovely breakfast and the staff were lovely. It's very... More

There was only one member of staff in the bar/restaurant area to serve drinks, clear tables take food orders & serve. Food was poor, and overpriced, Iceland frozen cod, bar area full of dirty glasses & bar man whistled continuously around our table & chatted to himself all evening making innuendo comments about guests including ourselves, except local customers. Frequently... More

We arrived for an early dinner and almost literally had the place to ourselves. We (my wife and I) sat in the bar area, had a drink and ordered 2 fish pies, which we had been told were not to be missed here. The reports are accurate. Promptly and courteously served by the one and only bartender/waiter/maitre d' on duty... More

I ate here 3 times in one week and the food did not disappoint - fish and chips (the portion of mushy peas was laughably small), fish pie and fish cakes all delicious. The waiting staff warmed with each visit. The atmosphere is a little dull, but the food certainly makes up for it.

I have eaten in An Sugan twice and the food has been great on both occassions. Its a cosy wee spot that serves the best of irish dishes with a twist. Clon is the 'home' of black pudding after all and it was the starter that brought me back a second time.

Two of us ate the 35 euro lobster on Sunday night and both of us still have food poisoning from it. Thanks for the great memories of our holiday spent in a bathroom . As soon as we ordered it they rubbed it off the board so it must have been the last serve. Just so the restaurant knows who... More

We are sorry to hear you were sick on your holiday of the area. We have one of the only live lobster tanks in West Cork and it has to meet rigourous standards and is thoroughly checked and maintained in accordance wth food safety. It is lamentable that you became unwell while on holiday but we can assure you the... More

I ordered a fresh fish pie and was okay but nothing special and not too much food. The staff was nice but they were a little bit slow.

Kind of a quirky pub grub but the seafood was very nice. Worth a shot. Very good staff. Very relaxed atmosphere.

We started with some deep fried calamari - delicious! - and we had fish cakes and seafood pie. Both our dishes were absolutely amazing and the service was great too! We hope to be back soon!

This was our 2nd visit to the Sugan hotel/restaurant. They specialise in seafood and even have a lobster tank for you to choose your lobster from. The breakfasts are also very indulgent, opt for the traditional irish!
