Absolutely delicious food and an excellent cheese selection! My husband and I shared the cheese board (£12) although there was enough for our three children to all have a nibble too. Cake seemed steep at £5 a slice until you see the absolute wedge they give you! Our 8 year old could only manage half of it, but there was enough left for the rest of us (2 adults 2 children) to all have a generous chunk each. Well worth the pennies as it was the tastiest carrot cake I have ever had! They had a sizeable wine/beer selection, although we opted this time for hot drinks. My cappuccino was lovely and strong; definitely tasted like 'proper' coffee! My son was also impressed by how creamy his hot chocolate was. Highly recommend you visit this gem of a cafe; beautifully decorated, very friendly staff and dogs are allowed inside too :)

What at first glance appeared pricey, turned out to be very good value for money, because the quality was top notch. Beautifully fresh food and really good coffee. The host was a real gent. The Canadian style gravalax bagel was delicious, as were the prawns on toast. Well worth a visit.

I had the cheeseboard. Several varieties all absolutely delicious. My friends had the chowder which was a large dish full of fish. White wine was very fruity and good value for money. Lots of choice for sandwiches etc. we will be back and soon.

Lunch today & tried out this new place as I’d seen the reviews. A lot of cheese is my first thought upon entering! Lots of choice if you love cheese. We settled for a prawn salsa with kettle chips & a cheese on sourdough toast with cappuccino & coffee. The menu had lots of very different fare from the usual served locally which is a lovely change. My salsa with prawns was super fresh & was lovely & my friend said the cheese on her sourdough was really nice too. The bill was very reasonable although some of the items looked a tad pricey although they may well have been huge portions & good value, I don’t know. Coffees were fine though I felt a little highly priced at £3.25. Maybe that’s me though.v

Jo and Charlie are amazing and they offer an excellent spread it’s a fantastic atmosphere we were up recently and popped in for lunch, the chowder, salmon bagel and Welsh-Rarebit. We also went back a second day and had prawn salad and cheese and chutney, whiled away the afternoon we also ate them out of cinnamon buns that week. I really can’t recommend this place enough, one to visit if you are anywhere near.

A trip to Bae Borth was a real highlight of our Easter visit to Snowdonia. It’s different from the usual touristy fare - their menu is choc full of top quality (and v often local) ingredients cooked with care and I daresay a lot of love (it shines through). My husband and I had the smoked mackerel cobb salad which was absolutely delicious and the children shared a mezze plate (they kindly did a children-friendly version, no olives etc) - all plates were cleaned! We’re back to Snowdonia in July and can’t wait to return to Bae Borth, what a gem!

Newly arrived from Nova Scotia, back ro Welsh routes to start this new venture , open just a few weeks - this couple have hit the deck running in a delightful sweet spot. Great setting; contemporary and fresh but sympathetic refurbishment ; teasingly elegant and imaginative but simple menu with fresh bread cooked in house and a tempting slate of cheeses . Spot on. We are really looking forwards to going back and seeing this grow.

Great little cafe bar with very friendly owners/staff & dog friendly too. We visited on a recommendation from the owners of our holiday cottage. It was a wet day so unfortunately we couldn’t sit outside & enjoy the view. We went in & were offered a table which gave our Lab some room. Menu for food & drink is on chalk boards around the room. I selected the Welsh Cheese Board & the husband selected a cheese & chutney sandwich, we also ordered 2 soft drinks. The drinks came quickly & we settled in to wait for our food. We chatted and re read the chalk boards. My eyes were taken to the wine board & I couldn’t resist a glass of Primitivo. The food came & the wine was ordered. I must say at this point, I didn’t take a picture as I always forget if the food looks good & this looked good. The cheese board had 3 large pieces of cheese, 2 chutneys, some olives, picked onion slices, slices of focaccia & some crostini. I dived in (picture taking well forgotten). The husband’s sandwich was made of focaccia stuffed with cheese & chutney & looked good. The food is excellent & the wine went down a treat too. All in all a very good experience that I will repeat & highly recommend.

This is the most fabulous place to sit and enjoy beautifully prepared light food and take in the sea view. The staff are so welcoming and friendly. We have been a few times but the last visit was at the end of a long walk when it was raining like it only can in Wales and windy?, my goodness, we passed the horsemen of the apocalypse at one point. The waves were crashing in at the harbour. What a sight! We were welcomed (even wet) and dried out with a great brunch. So good to have this deli here.

It was my first family holiday with baby and to Wales it self, so really I was expecting fish and chips by the sea before my visit (which is great obviously). However, we were really surprised by this beautiful bar and restaurant with sweeping views of Snowdonia and the Welsh country side. Ran by a couple from Canada, the food they offer is not the usual, even being from a city, I haven’t come across seafood dishes like this. I really recommend the prawn toast, it was fantastic and fresh tasting. The way I would describe it is Scandinavian as they offer Gravlax dishes similar to that regions. Me and my family came for a cheese board everyday and WOW it was delicious. I’m coming back next year just so I can eat here… and explore my new found love of Wales ;)

If you've ever wonder what Welsh / Nova Scotian fusion food would be like, this is a good place to find out! Specialising in Welsh cheeses, it is lovely in the summer with the bifold doors opening over a priceless view over the bay. In the winter, either sit outside wrapped up in a blanket, or cuddle up all cozy inside. Friendly service. Well worth a visit

The Moorings was one of our favourite ever restaurants, so we were nervous that Bae Borth would be disappointing. We had a lovely surprise though! The new owners are super friendly and clearly know what they're doing. Home made breads, gorgeous local produce - we had a wonderful lunch! Lovely to chat to you Charlie, we will be back!

We have visited this cafe/bistro on previous occasions when it was the Moorings and didn't realise it had changed ownership. The location is superb, overlooking the small bay and with a terrace (the weather was atrocious so we went inside) .The owners are from Nova Scotia and so friendly. My wife and I both had the Nova Scotia chowder (a special recipe) which was amazing, stacked full of salmon, king prawn, mussels etc. Thank you, we will return.

We popped in today - and what an absolute delight! It’s a charming little deli/cafe in a gorgeous spot and above all the food was really excellent quality. We ordered the baked Perl Wen, the prawn salad on focaccia and the carrot and hummus. Each dish was delicious! There’s a strong emphasis on locally sourced ingredients which really marks this out as a top spot. And it was a lovely warm welcome, too. We couldn’t resist buying some lovely welsh chocolate and cheeses before we left, along with some local ice cream to eat on the beach (in Feb!). We loved it and we will be back!
