You must eat here. This is non-negotiable. The langoustine soup was unreal - get 1 soup and share with whoever you are here with, because its huge and comes with a refill container. Definitely get at least the 250mg of the langoustine pot, you could...More

I have to say this was the most memorable meal on our trip. It is an hour drive from Reykjavik in the tiny village Stokkseyri. On the way back we pulled off the road and saw the most beautiful northern lights. But back to the...More

We went here after looking in a travellers guide that recommend an other restaurant, but that was full. So we drive a little further and found this little restaurant. They had another shift an hour later. So we waited for dinner. We never regretted that...More

We ate at far fancier restaurants during our stay in Iceland, but nothing beat that perfect copper pot of langostines fresh from the sea we enjoyed at Fjorubordid. We considered rearranging part of our itinerary for a second night there before we left.

I ❤️❤️❤️ this place. Located in a small village right on the ocean in the south of Iceland. Photo opportunity outside with the ocean. The food is simple ( think lobster boil), cooked and seasoned to perfection. We were a large group so we ordered...More

I am not sure if prices reflect the value concidering quantity and location. Trip advisor and bbc have added to it, but I don't think it is worth the extra trip, althought I have to admit - very tasty soup and finger licking good langoustine...More

If you are in the area, you must stop here. The Langoustine lunch is amazing. The Langoustines are large and the broth is wonderful. We had a pot and shared it. Amazing. We visited during the winter so we didn't experience the outside area which...More

The lobster soup really was delicious and the best I have ever tasted. Definitely worth a detour to this restaurant. Would have given it a 5 if it had a few more choices on the menu for those who can’t eat shellfish

Description
At the seashore the giant langoustine makes appointments with mermaids and landlubbers. He waves his large claws, attracting the desire to be in the company of starfish and lumpfish. The village´s corrugated iron houses, located just above its harbour, smack of ocean fragrance and seahorses. The soup is magical. It is suitable for numerous occasions and happy moments on ordinary days, but Fjöruborðið takes no responsibility for consequences or stirring adventures that could result from ingesting it. It has a will of its own and, as such, it is risky for those who don't want to venture beyond the average. This is the most famous langoustine soup in the Republic of Iceland, prepared by handsome cooks who step naked out of the ocean at Stokkseyri with their catch.
