Even though they have other things on the menu it's clear that the speciality is the langoustines. We had the sautéed langoustines in garlic butter and they're to die for! We had the trimmings on the side, but wouldn't bother with that next time - the langoustines are all you'll want. If (when) we visit Iceland again we'll surely come... More

This unassuming, adorable restaurant literally just off the beach serves local langoustine tails, and not much else. If you order the 3-course menu, you get a bowl of the most flavorful, peppery bisque you'll ever eat in your life, dotted with about 5 small langoustine tails that are fresh and sweet. And then the waiting staff bring out a little... More

We had been watching Rick Stein's Reykjavik programme and were very keen to try out this restaurant. We hired a car for the day as it is about a 45 minute drive from Reykjavik where we were staying. We were sorry to be somewhat disappointed. The welcome was unfriendly. The young women who served us was nice, though. We had... More

I ordered a medium portion and friends a small portion. It all came in one pot and we had to divide it and guess how much each person had to eat. This was very uncomfortable ruined the dinner for me somewhat. The soup had a weird paper taste to it and the lobster was mediocre. And to top it all... More

Very nice service. Soup was very good, served with bread and two sauces. Not sure how the sauces fit in. We were told that you use them on the bread, but we found that just dipping he bread in the soup was much better. Just a little of garlic sauce added. Great stop off place before returning to Reykjavik, from... More

Bisque was one of the best I've ever had. Langoustines melt in your mouth. Friendly service, super quaint seashore village.

Me and two others ordered three 400g Three Course Menus. The soup was great. The langoustines were great. The side dishes were OK. The deserts were great. The soup was flavorful and creamy. The langoustines in the soup were very tender. We were not given a full bowl of soup and I wished they did. The langoustines were not as tender... More

Description
At the seashore the giant lobster makes appointments with mermaids and Landlubbers. He waves his large claws, attracting the desire to be in the company of starfish and lumbfish. The village's corrugated iron houses, located just above its harbour, smack of ocean fragrance and seahorses. The village is named Stokkseyri and it sits just sixty thousand metres from Icelands capital, with a view of volcanoes, the ocean and endless hayfields. Under the stars, an even more important journey takes place - across salivating tongues, beautiful stomachs and joyful minds...
