We booked Ye Olde George for a large party of 24 people - we were all staying at the Meon Springs Yurts just a mile up the road. We had already given our orders to the pub but were still impressed at how efficient the whole experience was - and the fact that we hadn't been asked for any sort... More

I have grown up with The George as my local, which is quite a few decades... It has seen many owners in those decades - some better than others... I remember a time when there were constant weekend lock-ins for the local yooof, we'd - I mean they'd - be there till 2am with the curtains shut and candles for... More

My husband and I had supper at the George again last night and also with a couple of friends a couple of weeks ago. On both occasions the food and service were superb. We are so lucky to have such a great pub so close.

Came here for dinner on a stormy evening, a beautiful pub / restaurant with very kind and helpful, friendly staff. The gentleman behind the bar was lovely and the food was excellent. Main meals roughly £15 each and desserts £6.95. Well worth the money. 100000% would come here again. Coming back for lunch tomorrow! Thank you, wonderful evening x

Ye Olde George Inn, East Meon, is 15th century inn with good pub food and warm fires. Very informal and traditional, I suspect there was sawdust on the floor not long ago. Not pretentious though. I couldn't fault our baked garlic Camembert, breads and onion jam starter and my battered haddock, chips/mushy peas and the wife's Steak and chips were... More

Dined as a couple. Extremely impressed by the restaurant interior and menu variety. All our dishes were beautifully cooked and presented and with generous portions. The food was so full of flavour and was fantastic quality. In particular, the burger was fantastic and also the smoked haddock and pea risotto which was delicately flavoured and delicious. The choc brownie with... More

This was our first visit to East Meon, what a lovely village! The Ye Olde George Inn is exactly what you would hope to find in an English village. We had a simple lunch, but it was excellent. The scampi were freshly made with beer batter, not the usual offering from the back of a frozen food truck. My wife... More

Poor service - we had to keep asking for help. Don't go here expecting a relaxing meal - might as well stay home and serve yourself.

Still as warm and inviting as ever. I used to live in the village 20 years ago and the George has lost none of its charm. The menu is good and the quality will not disappoint. The home made warm pork scratching snacks are a must if you like that kind of thing. Highly recommended.

We visited for lunch with my partner's son and enjoyed a table opposite the log fire. I enjoyed putting more logs on the fire! Two of us had the cod loin and my partner had the risotto. For dessert the chocolate bomb was excellent with hot chocolate to pour on the bomb. Overall our meals were very good but rather... More
