I am so grateful to Kath and Liam for treating me as a VIP. The restaurant, attached to the B&B has become renowned not just to guests but throughout the Lakes and beyond. Located in the Whinlatter Forest near Braithwaite, this lovely couple have poured...More

Our party of 4 saved this for our last night in the area - and were delivered a polished evening of fine food & service in a lovely setting. Warm welcome, knowledgable on the wine, and we were not hurried, allowing us to savour this...More

Excellent food, excellent service. Only slight gripe was that they were very happy to replace bottles of water without telling us that they cost £4 each. Not enough to spoil the experience though, by any means.

Stayed here over the weekend with my husband. As we are well travelled & not impressed by pretence and grandeur we were fearing that the rave reviews were merely from people caught up in an " emperor's new clothes" sort of scenario. On the Friday...More

My wife and I had dinner here in June 2013 and thought the food was fantastic. This time we were disappointed and felt the food was not nearly so good as it had been the previous year. An exception was the sourdough bread, which was...More

Would definitely recommend eating here. From booking to leaving the whole experience is wonderful. When booking I was asked about special dietary requirements & my request was met with subtly. A parking space was reserved right by the front door due to mobility issues &...More

I agree with the last comment. One course is not enough unless you prefer very small meals. I would dine elsewhere if you only want one course as although the food is high quality and very well executed the portions are... More
