Made an impromptu visit to the plum pudding this week. We have not been in for a few years and was pleasantly surprised to find out it was serving authentic Italian food. Full praise to the chef and staff for making our visit very enjoyable. The food was amazing and very reasonably priced, the service was professional and friendly. Will... More
Useful canal side gastropub if walking, cycling or on a barge. Opposite caravan park. Stopped for coffee but very tempted by the menu. Guest beer £2.90 and main courses £13-18. Set menu £15 for 3 courses. Relaxed atmosphere suitable for a meal or just a drink.
Took family members for Sunday lunch and were taken to our table by an elderly Italian gentleman. Three of us opted for the Sunday lunch menu and the remaining two from the Italian. We also ordered a bottle of water (which never came until we'd asked three times), he had to go and check on the soup of the day,... More
Dear Customer I am very sorry to learn that whilst you did enjoy the food, you didn't enjoy the service received from Giuseppe, he is certainly quite a character and I suppose he isn't going to win everyone over although he does try very hard. He did explain that he couldn't give the dessert menus out as there was still... More
We arrived half an hour early planning to have a few drinks in the bar first. It was full of chavs, one of which was boasting about having her three week old baby in the pub with her. Classy yeh. We later sat at our table and the waitress arrived with some drinks. One of which was a pint of... More
Dear customer, I am very sorry to hear about your experience. The waitress who spilled the drink was a trainee and this was the first time she has made and had to deal with an error of her own making. She was absolutely mortified and upset with herself. I will of course share your comments with the person involved and... More
Booked a meal for 15 but it proved inconvenient and awkward to pay in 5 groups. We were just given the menu and one bill and told to sort it ourselves, even though we said at the start we wanted to pay in separate families. Luckily the waitress eventually sorted as children's meals (which we thought expensive) were not on... More
Dear Cathy I am very sorry to learn you were disappointed. We table checked you often and understood you were enjoying your meal. Giuseppe did ask very kindly if you could all pay together instead of separately but if it was an issue and inconvenient, we would have preferred you would have said so at the time. With regards the... More
An unpretentious pub set in a quiet area alongside a canal. This place must be on every canal cruises itinerary. Fairly basic inside and a small bar. It does have two good local ales on draught and the black country "Golden " is very good. Outside they have a very attractive seating area alongside the canal which takes some beating... More
please could you tell me, is the plum pudding wheelchair accessible and does it have an accessible disabled toilet?
