We had a great time at this property, you can feel the combined effort of the whole team.
In the kitchen a young couple full of future that we want to encourage. In the room, a 28-year-old chef in this position and a mother of the second chef who wants to satisfy the clientele
Everything is together or almost!!
It just lacks a little life, a little pep’s from the plate, a little more creativity
I believe!! They deserve to succeed.
Go test!!!

Change of owners...a successful and very promising preview experience
We knew the establishment and its former chef. We had booked with a group of friends for several months but a few days before our arrival, we learned that the establishment was taken over by a new team.
1st pleasant telephone contract reassuring us that our reservation would obviously be honored
Great welcome when we arrived.
We were the only customers (the restaurant will officially open in the coming days).
Once installed, we quickly find our bearings (…including the server who has been loyal to the station for over 25 years and is always on point)
Then comes the meal time... Tasty, well-balanced dishes with a fair and careful presentation... (I would like to point out that having chosen the menus well before the arrival of the new chef, the exercise was imposed but very well accomplished)
At the end of the meal, we had a moment of friendly exchange with the new managers which allowed us to discover, despite their youth, solid experience in renowned establishments.
In short, we are delighted with our experience and will obviously come back to taste the new menu and appreciate the personal touch and culinary talents of the new chef
We wish every success to this new young and professional team which is launching itself by taking over this historic Norman restaurant.

The Dauphin offers an unforgettable dining experience with a star dish consisting of a perfectly cooked steak with a mille-feuille potato gratin. The presentation is refined, and the flavors are balanced and delicious. The atmosphere is sophisticated and welcoming, with professional and friendly service. In addition, the Awards are very affordable, making this dining experience even more enjoyable.
The new owners, Amy and Samuel, really deserve congratulations for their excellent work. We wish them much happiness and success.

Out of curiosity, we recently had lunch at the Dauphin following the change of ownership.
We found it a shame that the champagne was not served at the table.
The cocktail at Le Grand Marnier ordered was so light in alcohol that it was more like a fruit juice... at the price of a cocktail.
the menu is 55€:
The entrance was good but too light. In addition, meat tartare has nothing more than a classic tartare.
We took a turbo that is offered with a (big) supplement of 12€ on an already expensive menu!!
Monkfish emulsion noilly (we always look for noilly...) and the emulsion was already no longer one when it arrived at the table.
Moreover, the dishes were served on cold plates: frankly a shame for the "standing" of the restaurant.
Cheese at 11€ is served in fine lumps. An effort anyway if a product where you have no work.
Finally, the fruit dessert was very classic. There was very little work on it. We certainly didn’t expect this for a €55 menu dessert.
In the end, the menu is good but is far too basic and ungourmet. The quantities are clearly very (too) light for a menu at that rate
As for the service, it was quite amateurish. The cutlery was not wiped and had stains once on the table. The English-style bread service, although a good idea on paper, was poorly done (no replenishment in particular) and was clearly losing interest. Bread quickly ran out.
Despite this, the lady at the service was very pleasant even if she sometimes seemed lost in her job.
In the end, the Dauphin sells itself as a gourmet restaurant but has only the price. Quality is not there to date but we came out with a 250€ bill for two people (with an extra bottle of wine).
We are rather disappointed...

Following the Michelin reviews we went to the Dauphin: the service and atmosphere are austere... we did not feel welcomed. The menu at 55 euros is not up to the standard an addition at 210 euros with glass of champagne at 15 euros!!!! One desire to finish the meal quickly to go out... it's regrettable. Review it.

We have known this table for over 15 years... The replacement of the starred chef had not convinced us at all but I must admit that the new team must quickly reposition itself on many points. On the plate side, it's good , correctly executed but for 55€ we expect something else! That's an exaggeration! There is certainly 10€ too much on the bill! The beef tartare was well seasoned but nothing spectacular, or new. For the guinea fowl, it was pretty good but the presentation too complicated.. The dessert was nice... The plates are beautiful It mostly jams on the atmosphere and service. No music background... confessional atmosphere or everyone whispering ( 4 tables of 2) with a super fast machine gun service... lacking cool attitude, waiter hobbled as in hotel schools which is totally outdated... Not a word, not a little conversation... It's really stuck! I also think the chef should come to the room to take the pulse of the clients, it would advance the project! Total bill 210€ to feel in an uptight, austere atmosphere.... Bof bof

We knew this table well and were very disappointed with our last lunch. I'll make the last one clear!
On 01/11/2024, (note n°11,787 of 150 € for 2), we took pearly millennial turbot with a yellow wine sauce; if the fish had been served hot with a sufficient amount of sauce, it would have been perfect! Despite our remark to the waiter... NO excuse! Worse at dessert time: the clementine supreme served with panna cotta tasted rancid! It is shameful and this table does not deserve the 2 toques of the G&M guide.
The service is not up to standard... Meal served in less than an hour, no privacy and it felt like a military barracks.
If the Dutch chef had come to apologize again...
Well, no! You even wonder if she was the one cooking!

Change of management and cook 3/4 months ago. This restaurant is no longer a worthy gastro, except for the Awards. The cuisine is good, the presentation is beautiful but the quantities are really minimal and the choice of dishes is disappointing and does not make you dream:
Tomatoes, mackerel or small beef tartare as a starter.
Monkfish , guinea fowl or piece of beef.
Pie tatin with a scoop of ice cream for dessert (I can't remember the other two proposals).
All for 55€.
Espresso at €4.50 without any cuteness (as before) not even a square of chocolate.
We were very disappointed and will not return again.

We had the privilege of dining at this restaurant and, once again, the experience was a success. The talent of the Chef is reflected in dishes with subtle and harmonious flavors, sublimating quality ingredients.
For 65 € (starter, main course, dessert), we enjoyed an excellent meal: snacked scallops at will, a fragrant raviole of langoustine, a melting turbot accompanied by a refined yellow wine sauce, and a fillet of beef of incomparable tenderness. Tasty desserts, perfectly concluded this meal.
The service, as usual, was impeccable. Since taking over the property in May 2024, this was our third visit, and we will return without hesitation! Living nearby, we are already looking forward to our next visit.
Congratulations to the Chef and her team!

We stumbled across this pretty restaurant whilst out exploring the area.We immediately made a reservation for the following lunch time. The waiter that welcomed us was very welcoming, polite and friendly also very helpful with menu choice. The food was of outstanding quality with amazing flavors and it was presented beautifully. The restaurant inside is beautiful also. We would love to return if in the area.

Immaculate welcome and service. Very attentive team for a great family meal in a cozy and cozy atmosphere. All our guests enjoyed the refinement of the dishes, the little touches (palate starters, sweet treats) and the meeting, in fine, with Amy and Samuel, the young owners of the restaurant. A nice address to remember.

A very good restaurant to discover in the Normandy countryside near Pont l'évêque
To begin with, we had a delicious snack (parmesan sand, bar tartare and bar egg )!
I started with the Norman Beef Tartare, red wine condiment, candied egg yolk & Orbec mushrooms, I continued with the Beef Filet, carrot with ice cream, potato mille-feuille, shitaké with Calvados & meat juice
We shared the cheese plate
And finally dessert Poached & roasted Bergeron apricots, white chocolate ganache, pistachio espuma & bay ice cream
The only small "flat" for me will be the training of beef a little less worked compared to the other plates but the seasoning and cooking were perfect!
A very nice place with a kind waiter and little care for guests!
Thanks to the whole team for the time spent at vs! We will not hesitate to return

A very good restaurant in the Normandy countryside. The fillet of beef is particularly good and the selection of wines by the glass remarkable (a particular mention for the Saint Estèphe). Elizabeth II even came to lunch.

Very friendly welcome, impeccable service by the waiter rich 24 years of experience in the house, delicate cuisine, cozy atmosphere. On the plates, the quantities are adapted and the quality is the appointment. The fish are delicious, the desserts light and tasty. A very good white wine from the Luberon at the right price! Thank you for this good time and good luck to the new owners!
